The room has looked worse, but it has also looked a lot better. Trouble I have when it gets completely out of hand is finding anything. That bugs me more than anything.

cindyg...I'm also glad I made the pegboard large. I don't know where I would put all that stuff I use every day. It also needs to be re-organized. The quilt top on the sewing machine table is one I am finishing up for my DDIL. I quilted it on the longarm, but then decided I needed to do some SID and decided to do it on my domestic. Hate that. It breaks my back. The Hawaiian applique` is my first attempt at needle turn. It's been hanging there since last April. I gave it to my girlfriend as a birthday gift unfinished. It's still unfinished, but I have completed the quilting. Just have to decide if I want to frame it or put a binding on. That baby Trip Around the World is next to be quilted.

The purple block on the ironing board is one I'm sending for the Tornado blocks. I was going through them today. Have several from swaps that I doubt I will ever do anything with because they are all in such different fabrics. Can't think of a better home for them.

OK....let's see some more rooms. Not to see the mess, but to get different ideas of what other people do. I'm always looking for new ways to store stuff.

It's so fun to see the pictures of sewing rooms! messy or not!!! Gives me ideas on what to do with mine!

I used to have a little sign on the door of my room

"Mary's Craft Room"

my DD changed it to "Mary's Crap room"

Am trying to decide if I want to completely and I mean COMPLETELY re-do my sewing and scrapbooking rooms. The scrapbooking room is a little smaller but it gets better light! Of course, now that I see such nice bright rooms and I'm even thinking about re painting!

Was going to start Thurs morning, but I think I'll just see how ambitious I feel in the morning! LOL

Thanks Grammy. Your room is very very nice. What I like the best, is that it looks like it is used and enjoyed. And you seem really productive. I love your room.

Thanks for having the courage to post pictures. I think the room looks great-I especially like the valance and the celtic knot wallhanging. Did you piece the valance or is it printed?

Nice room grammy, I can see that you have everything handy. Wish I had the wall space you have.

I love your sewing table, that will be on my Christmas wish list for sure. Your quilts are beautiful and I especially love your Hawaiian applique square.

I find it interesting that we all seem to have the same type of storage shelves and bins in our sewing rooms. As far as messy, well, mine isn't always as neat as it looked in my pictures. There are days that my room looks like a tornado hit it and the cleanup team hasn't come in yet.LOL

Grammy, that is a great room. There is nothing like being surrounded by the things that make you so happy, and no one else has a clue why it thills you so.

Hi Peaches....I purchased the valance at Sears I think. It is pieced. The Celtic wallhanging I did in a class down in Swansea, IL when I was down there in 2001 taking care of my mom before her passing. We had to make our own bias using those long metal "thingys."

Just to show you how great quilters are. One day while with my mom, I was in a LQS in Belleville, IL and got to talking with one of the sales ladies. Told her I had my machine, but no fabric with me and I just wished I had some scraps to do something scrappy. She said she had all kind of scraps and the next day she brought in a bunch. It was so nice of her, and it gave me something to fill my time. Mom did a lot of sleeping then. I made this little wall hanging...

Hi SharonMaMaw...if I could draw up plans, I would make it twice as big. LOL. I could take that one little table down. I just use that to spread the quilt out if I'm quilting on my domestic machine. The tabletop I have my cutting board on is an old wooden cutting board from an Army mess hall. The two cabinets underneath are cabinets they took out of our quarters when we were stationed in North Dakota many moons ago. They put in dishwashers. They hadn't even finished putting in the dishwashers, when they closed the post. It was in Nekoma, ND. What a great little town. Couldn't ask for friendlier people.
