Re: fabric postcards summer swap
Hi ladies:
Haven't been on line for a week. I had 2 of my granddaughters for a week. Ages 6 and 4. They kept me very very busy.
I have not decided on the seashells yet.

HA HA you're funny. I have even STARTED yet!! I'm up to my eyeballs in Christmas blocks for now!
Going to definately have to do some more research to learn how to do the post cards!
Let me think.....I can probably get around that in umm ummm SEPTEMBER!

I started on my first one yesterday. I had to change the technique from what I had originally intended and I still have a few things to add to it. I will post a picture as soon as I am done. I decided to do mine in different holiday themes, making one for each month and trying different techniques for each one.

Sew Sew:
I like the idea that your going to do a different technique on each postcard.
Let us know when you post the pix.

I posted a picture of my first postcard in the photo section. I did a New Year themed postcard.

I left a message in the photo section, too.
That's really a neat postcard. I LOVE it.
Have you made any before?

My New Years postcard is the first one I have ever made. I was not too happy with the satin stitch on the edge but I am using my new machine and am not too familiar with the setting yet. I do not usually do machine applique, I prefer to do needle turn. That will be on another one of my postcards, not sure which one yet.

A friend of mine told me to use a little wider zig zag; and sew around the card 2 times or 3. That way, the sewing machine won't jam.

I think the edge may be handles like fabric bowls or boxes or am i incorrect in that thinking
