Re: machine quilting idea
I guess I'm going to have to try sewing barefoot. Y'all seem to like it so much. I bet when I kick off my shoe it will be gone when I'm ready to put it back on. Schatzi and Scooter will think it's a toy. I'll see what happens.

I can't sew with shoes on - not enough control. I might try with sole less slippers but that's as thick as it can get. I want to be able to control my speed with the twiddle of a toe or two.

I learned without shoes 100+ years ago and have never been able to sew with shoes. The foot controller on moms featherweight had a small button and shoes just didn't work.
I feel like I have so much control barefoot!

I am barefoot all the way when it comes to sewing. Can't sew with shoes on at all.

LOL, I also love being barefooted, and have always sewed barefooted.

I agree, I have more control of my pedal without shoes on.

I always sew either barefoot or with socks on in cold weather. It's an automatic thing with me.

Never wear shoes in the house, so it just came naturally to sew barefoot. My orthopedic Dr. said I should wear shoes in the house, as it would help support feet and arches. Not a chance fella--ha.

I grew up barefoot in Southern California! My DH has stopped getting on to be for not wearing shoes in the house. He used to do the "I told you so" whenever I stepped on something. I told him I should be able to go barefoot in my own house! When I was a teenager, my best friend and I would walk to town barefoot. Temps would be in the 100's and we would walk on pavement. Boy, were our feet tough! My kids have taken after me, my DH just shakes his head. He still wears his shoes in the house.
