I think the name of the book is called "Not Your Grandmother's Tumbling Blocks."

I had to laugh just now. When I looked here earlier & posted, only the purple one would come up for me. That's why I said, where's the pink one? Now, it's right there where you said it was to begin with! Go figure, but thanks for posting it again. They both are lovely quilts, great job! You can't tell any difference in the blocks either, at least not in your photos.

These are so pretty! So soft looking.
quiltcreator. . .I would like the name of the book also. Thanks for sharing.
happymrs. . .Love batiks also. I'm going to have a hard time deciding which to use. For a newborn quilt I kind of like the idea of using flannel. Will flannel work OK do you think?

OK, I'm going to go for it today. I just printed out Simply Quilts #839 from HGTV and can't wait to start looking in my stash for something. Probably baby prints then onto beautiful batiks!

Re: My new try for this weekend!
happymrs, I really love the multi colors you have used, it gives the blocks a great dimension. I have only done baby quilts, so have used baby colors ... I found sewing the rows together more challenging than sewing the blocks.
The two books I used are:
P.S. I Love You Two by Nancy J. Smith & Lynda S. Milligan, for the original Tumbling Block pattern, using Y seams
Building Block Quilts by Sara Nephew, for the newer version, no Y seam pattern.
