Hi Naniyosie, there is a topic "What's your favorite notion." It's basically the same question. Check it out under search for topics.

I don't know that it's my absolute favorite notion but I got a pair of small Clover scissors while in Paducah. I absolutely love them. I have been a dyed in the wool Gingher gal for years but these are finding a place in my heart and my sewing table.

Oh, man, am I not a happy camper. I sat down to sew last night. Withmy first seam, I picked up my Clover scissors to snip the thread and they didn't cut it. My 9 year old, apparently, had used my scissors for who knows what yesterday while I was at work. She was in bed when I discovered it and still there when I left for work this morning so I still don't know what she was cutting. She is probably lucky. Guess I start saving my $$$$ to get another pair. I am SO bummed.

Re: Best quilting notion/gadget you can't live without
qltsbme - my girls used my fabric scissors for something else after I told them specifically not to use that pair. As a matter of fact I had bought them each some scissors - pink for Kim to match her room and blue for Sherrie. That way there would be no fighting. Anyway, one of them used my good fabric scissors and whoever did it would not fess up - not me, not me. So I took half of their allowances each week until I had enough to pay for another pair of good scissors. They never touched my scissors again - for a couple of weeks they didn't have enough money to go to the movies or the roller rink so I guess they learned one thing during their young lives - do NOT touch mom's scissors! LOL

Well, lemme think...rotary cutter and mat, stilleto, Daylight lamp by my chair, quilting hoop, graph paper and colored pencils, washable markers, curved basting safety pins, basting needles, supportive husband and sons, and my sewing machine. The number one thing I can't live without--my desire to create.
Cool thread!
