Does anyone use Thangles, and what do you think of them

Thangles are paper strips used to help you make perfect half square triangles. I think they are a waste of money, and I have a much easier way to to it without paper. Marge

I draw a line corner to corner, sew 1/4 inch away from the line on both sides, and then cut on the drawn line. I cut and sew one block at a time so I haven't used the Thangles but I can see where this product would be a time saver if you chained pieced.

okay. I've used those before. They're okay. I didn't think it was faster to make them that way, because you have to take the paper. That was a pain in the ass. And yes I have a potty mouth. My DIL tell me that all the time.

I used them in a quilt retreat to make "lady in the lake" and did not like them. much easier to cut squares and sew 1/4" on each side of diagonal line.

I started using Thangles a few months ago when I joined the "Buck a Month" program at my local quilt shop. I do chain piece them and I'm not sorry I joined the program but I probably would not use them again. Kind of a waste of money & paper. I prefer to do it the same way as sewbug.

Thanks for all the help....I tried them yesterday, and I like them. The squares come out perfect.
I tried drawing a line and sewing 1/4 inch - that distorts the fabric.
