Re: How does your day start?
Here's my day
The night before I get my coffee pot ready and it starts automatically at 7:30am. I'm up about 7:30-8am. I turn on computer on the way to the bathroom. Then grab coffee, cig, and check e-mail and then the forum. Depending on my work schedule (some days I start at 10am, some days at 1:pm) I'll play on computer for a while then go down and check out my sewing projects. For example this morning I made a block for Kansas, but Had to do the flying geese 3 times!!! Should have looked at the instructions again FIRST! If I'm home in the morning, I sew a little, clean a little, post a little and generally putts around. This morning I have to run to the bank and post office so I'll leave for work early. I'm lucky that I only drive a mile to work! Gas hit $3.09 here yesterday!
It's absolutely beautiful in Minnesota this morning, a little on the muggy side, but supposed to get up to 80 something today. If I didn't have to work today I think I'd be home sewing and mowing the lawn. Mow a little--sew a little. I live alone, so my time is usually mine. It does have it's advantages, but it does get lonesome at times. Now you know why when my DD comes home I want to tie her down and keep her here!
Am still in pj's and it's about time I get butt in gear! As you all go through your day, please keep my DD in your thoughts and prayers. She has an appointment with the Dr this afternoon to see what the results are of an MRI she had done 2 weeks ago. At 28 she's in constant pain in her hips and legs. She's already had the bursa layers of her hips removed hoping that would end the pain, but it didn't work. Now we are wondering if there's something wrong in her back! She keeps a cane in her classroom and when her kids see that she's in pain, they bring her the cane! She's a tough cookie, so when she's in pain she is REALLY in pain, more than I could probably bare.
Hope everybody has a wonderful day. And Lee, that's happened to me too--freezer broke and everything melted! It was my freezer in my garage and I didn't realize it had died until something really started to stink! Had a whole turkey in there. YUK, what a mess!
Time to hit the shower!

Lee - I remember growing up, the chest freezer was next to the work bench down cellar..... my brother (same one with the A&H baking soda) unplugged the freezer to use a power tool. We found this out about 1-1/2 months later. My brother had to clean it out as punishment.

cindyB, I don't know the story aboput the A&H. Can you fill me in?
My mil once picked up a cow from the butcher and had it packed into the trunk. On her way home she forgot about it and it was in there for months in the summer. They cleaned it out but the smell never left, even years later. Totally gross!

Re: How does your day start?
Get up let Rudy, my dog of 13 yrs, out to do his morning yard check and terratorial marking, then I do the bladder thing, put on clothes, make a cup of cocoa and go out on the deck and quilt if it is warm enough on my quilting machine. If not check my computor, get ready to go to the concession trailer to work, taking my janome machine with because I sew in my cargo trailer threwout the day if we are not busy. (I have it set up behind the concession trailer.) I go to work about 9:00AM and close at 8:00 PM. come home, do a little housework, let Rudy out, he goes to work with me and stays in the cargo trailer or he has his own folding chair for out side) Shower, brush teeth, check computor, go to bed, read (everynight) and finally turn off light go to sleep, start again! Except Monday and Tuesday, we are closed so Monday housework and quilting or going to Amarillo, Tuesday, quilting and guild meeting. Thats about it! I pretty much live for Tuesday!

Not my best morning:
6am Get up
worship at the porcelan goddess
let dogs out
water plants
puke behind the bushes
drink cup of tea
back to the porcelan goddess
check e-mails
hubby and daughter leave-they just waved at me
call in sick-and they as "are you sure?"
got to love corporate America!

Loved those posts this morning about the rotten food. I left a package of hamburger in the
trunk of a car for a week-nasty!

I second the opinion on the glorious morning here in Minnesewta! Oh, how I want to be out there and not in here where I have to turn on a portable heater!
Here's the chicken salad.....
2 C Chicken
2 T onion
1 t salt
combine these and refrigerate overnight
1 C grapes
1 C miracle whip
1C celery
1C macaroni rings (uncooked measure)
1C mandarin oranges (add last)
1C whipping cream (whip it with a little sugar)
combine first four ingredients and then fold in oranges and whipped cream
enjoy!

Re: How does your day start?
My DH was cleaning out the freezer and put some frozen bread dough in a cooler. Forgot it was there untill a few months later when he needed the cooler and couldn't understand why he could barely lift it! What a mess that was, but at least I didn't have to clean it!
