Re: Got an opinion?
I would definitely like to see QIAD offer the Aurifil thread in 50 & 40 wt. The real experienced quilters on here say what the best products are for quilting, and then we have to go hunt them down. The invisible thread QIAD offers - it doesn't give a wt., but the gals have said we should be looking for .004 (?) An aweful lot has changed since the mid to late '80s and it's been a whole new experience. Thank you for asking us!!!

Re: Got an opinion?
I just bought a needle threader, I think it was clover but not sure.. you just pop your needle into it and press a button and your needle is threaded..Works great especially if you are a hand quilter for you can thread your needles so fast and have extra needles so you don't have to keep threaded needles while you hand quilt.

sorry about that, I meant to say threading needles not threaded.. so you don't have to keep threading needles while you quilt.

The Clover Needle Threader is on this site - and on sale now for only $6.00. I bought 2 of them when I first saw them and think I paid about $14 for each one of them!! Not sorry - as they have been SO helpful for these fading eyes, but what a deal they are at QIAD now!

Is it possible to have the batting by the yard? I often make quilts longer, and wider than the pre-cut batting.

Re: Got an opinion?
I vote for thread also. I bought the entire line of cotton thread from Connecting Threads and really do like it. I asked them for a good quality hand and/or machine quilting thread, they e-mailed me and said they would refer my request to their buyers. But it would be so much better to get the thread on QIAD when we order other items. Thanks for letting us offer input. I just ordered the Clover threader, can't wait for it to get here. (p.s. it was not the only thing I ordered)LOL.

Re: Got an opinion?
Ok, I've thought and thought and here's my list:
Thread. 50/3 and 40 wt. I mostly use Mettler, Presencia,(really like this one), Aurifil & King Tut, but love thread and will try any good quality. I like the larger sizes of neutrals. I have a real weakness for thread.
Like CindyB, I'd buy plain fusible interfacing and paper-backed, too.
Warm & Natural Batting. I have recently tried the Hobbs 80/20 and like it a lot, but there are times you need/want to use all cotton, especially for stuffing applique when you need to press, etc...or for rag quilts.
Wool batting, washable.
QIAD tee-shirts
Fat quarter bundles of El's fabric lines, charm squares and jelly rolls.
Charm squares and jelly rolls from various fabric lines.
More flannel fabric, and wide backing flannel.
Did I mention thread?!
A bag of scraps that El has tossed over her shoulder! As many scraps as that lady flings over her shoulders, I don't see why I can't buy a baggie of it, or even a few individual scraps!!!

Re: Got an opinion?
I do have an autographed bag of El's scraps. I have had it for years. I think I won it during certification classes. Are you all jealous?? Oh, no, now that I have let that out I may need to install more locks on the doors.
