Re: Quilter Health
kadie,
Good Grief what a adventure Punk put you thru !! So glad you did
not fall off the ladder reaching for him!! That so sounds just like
a cat, you rescue them from disaster and they go and do it again !
We introduced the kittens to our new puppy this afternoon.
Everybody was friendly and rubbed noses and then walked away.
We did this only when we knew Mama Cat was out of site!!!
Rosie is adjusting quite well to all of us, and she is sleeping thru
the nite, I think having my labrador "Dusty" sleeping in the same
room helps alot. He is 7 yrs. old and a sweet big old boy. Not a
guard dog at all unfortunately.
I have had no time to sit at the sewing machine, I feel like I'm
running a restaurant for pets lately. But I'm enjoying it soo much!
Our local Quilt Store had a anniversary party yesterday and a silent
auction. I bid on a few quilts earlier in the week and went back
yesterday to bid some more and look at the sales. She was so busy
there was absolutely no parking anywhere unless I wanted to walk
a ways, so I just drove home, I figured I spent enough money this
week just buying the puppy !!!
And if you think you are a butterball then I am too. I like to blame
everything on hormones! We can start a "Butterball Club" !!

Glad the puppy/kitty meetings went well.Punk was up on the roof again this morning but this time Hubby was home and yelled at me to get off the ladder before I killed myself!! So I left the little critter up there and about 20 minuted later he waltzed in the door like nothing had happened.
Someone should make a "hormone free "zone and life would be way more comfortable around here.

kadie,
Well life at your place is definitly not going to be dull with Punk !
He must like going up there having a birds eye view of everything.
I just got done searching the living room and kitchen and dining room
for Rosie. My husband tells me he can't find her and he just took her
off his lap a few minutes ago. Well she's so little she ended up
crawling under the couch and was laying behind it against the wall.
We were going nuts looking for her, and my place isn't that big.
These animals are going to age us while we are just trying to enjoy
them !!
Tomorrow I plan to quilt all day. I'm making a gift for my husbands
uncle who is now living in a assisted living home. It has sail boats
all over it. I think it will please him.
I laughed when I read your comment about the "hormone free zone".
Every house could use one !!

Re: Quilter Health
SewMuchTime,
Rosie sound soooo lovely and soooo tiny.It is strange how quickly little ones can move. They are there one minute and gone the next In the blink of an eye.
Well it seems Punk's newest playground is of course the roof. But it has gotten to the stage of ridiculous as he spends more time up there than ever. We have been having extremely heavy frosts so of course the gutters have a little water in them which apparently is lovely to slosh around in.
He is spending more and more time outside but still loves the fire at night. Our youngest daughter is staying with us for a month or so and she has fallen in love with him. Lucy comes in from work each night and calls out "Where are you little Darlin'" and he comes running. He will miss her when she leaves in a couple of weeks.

Lucy is actually flying to Australia's capital Canberra on Thursday morning for a very importanr job interview. If she gets it she will be moving there. I know she will have too much on her plate to fight me for Punk and she knows she'd lose any way as I win every wrestle we have..

kadie,
Punk is just too much! Well as long as he isn't slipping and sliding on his way down from the roof with your weather he must be a good
navigator and when they are young they have no fear. I have days I think my cats think we are dummies and just tolerate us because we feed them !
Glad to hear your daughter is staying with you for a visit. I miss having my daughter at home. I told my kids one of the reasons I bought a little dog is because I've given up on either one of them falling in love and giving me grandchildren and I need something little and adorable to hold in my arms !!
My daughter keeps telling me she has not met anyone she would even
think of reproducing with !! And with some of the guys she has
dated I agree.
Got some quilting done today so I feel good. I want to try and finish this gift by the end of this week so I can send it off to
my husbands uncle. How cold has it been lately over there ?

It has been freezing over here. They say it's the coldest winter in over 20 years.Huge frosts and the ice laying until mid morning.Where Lucy is going to it snows and there have been severe weather warnings for Canberra.
Poor girl has only ever flown once before. She has to stay at her brothers tonight as we have no public airport here only those for the spray planes..She is going to have to change planes twice to get there and navigate her way around Sydney airport on her own to get the connecting flight to Canberra.
She really wants this job.It is with Ausaid. They do the majority of our overseas aid work which is something she has wanted to do since she was about 12. Keep your fingers crossed for her please.
None of our children are married. Our son may as well be as he has been with the same girl for nearly 12 years and they live together.
Neither daughter is even keeping company with anyone at present so we don't hold our breath waiting for grandchildren,
I have finished the binding on 2 sides of this little log cabin and hope to get the other 2 done by tomorrow. G'nite
Well it is now Thursday afternoon here and Lucy just rang to say she's arrived safely in Canberra. Her job interview is in the morning and she sounds very edgy which is probably an accumulation of all the plane flights and tomorrows interview and then all the flights home tomorrow night. I hope and pray that all goes extremely well for her.

Re: Quilter Health
kadie,
I'm glad you told me that it was Thurs. afternoon in your last
paragraph. It is Thurs. morning now and we had it rain all day
yesterday and last nite. So the woods smell fresh and sweet.
I quilted all day yesterday, I didn't mind having material on
me with the weather so cool. I'm not doing any more big quilts
till winter. It is suppose to heat up again in few days.
Well your weather sounds like Mother Nature is letting us all
know who is boss. She never lets us forget. Punk must be getting
a nice thick coat. I've been using my big old cutting boards as
barriers to keep Rosie out of hallways. I knew they could come in
handy for something since I don't use them anymore.
I'm sending a prayer up for your daughter. I can just imagine how
tired she is from jet lag and then the nerves from the job
interview. Sounds like a good company with good intentions for
helping people. I've never heard of them before.
Well I've got to run into town and give my son and all they guys
he works with some choc. chip cookies. I baked in the oven for the
first time in awhile. The house was so cold and I didn't want to
start a fire ,so cookies was the thing to do.

Thank you for your prayers for Lucy. She is flying home later tonight. She rang an hour or so ago.I asked her how it all went and she said "not too shabby" whatever that means. She was reluctant to talk about it too much and said she will fill us in on everything when she gets home.
There were 750 applicants for the job and they are interviewing 70 They wish to hire 12-15 new staff to start work Feb 2008.Here's hoping.
Yummm choc chip cookies would be lovely with hot chocolate in this weather! I'll have to try out my new mixer this weekend and see what it's like .CH CH cookies may be the way to go.
G'nite
OK It is now Friday night. Lucy is back at her brothers safe and sound. She thinks her interview went quite well. A bit intimidating as it was in a government building where there was a lot of security and she had to be escorted in and out.She had to sit a written test before the interview even started and then went before a panel of 5 who asked all the relevent questions etc.
They told her that she would hear back Sept/Oct as to how she went. She doesn't want to get her hopes up so we will have to wait and see.Thankyou once again for your prayer and good wishes. It means a lot.
