I'm Coming to San Antonio the end of June
I'm going to be there the 18th - 22, and staying at the Marriott Rivercenter Hotel. I know there is shopping there - but any quilt shops close? My free time will be limited as this is a business conference.
Thanks! Cindy

Don't know about any quilt shops, but don't miss the River Walk. It's awesome. I went on a business trip there a long time ago and walked along the River Walk. Hopefully it's still there.
Enjoy your trip. And of course, you have to go during the hottest time of the year!

From a born and raised San Antonionian, don't worry Evie, the Riverwalk has been there for as long as I can remember and is expanding every year. It is a great place to take a stroll or enjoy a drink or eat a meal. The main event on the riverwalk is people watching and that can be lots of fun. There are so many things to do in San Antonio that you need to check out www.sanantoniocvb.com before you come. This is the visitors bureau and if you have never been to SA it is worth checking out. As for quilt shops I need to check out my list and see if there are any close to the downtown area and let you know. If you have the time it would be great to meet and have a cool drink along the river while you are here. Let me know and I could meet you at your hotel if you would like.

I've been to Las Vegas too, but not for business! My DH and I took a quickie honeymoon there, 28 years ago!
I also grew up in Southern California so I have been there several times. Every time a friend or relative said they were going and wanted me to go with them, I said "YES"! You can really eat like royalty there. The casinos would have really cheap meals to draw people in. And all the free drinks you wanted. They didn't even charge for soda's. (which is what I drank!) That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
I also had in mind how much I could spend and did not go over it. Some people get carried away and keep thinking the next time they will win big. Not.

SewSew, I don't know the itinerary yet, but we usually have some free time - at least a few minutes.
I'd love to meet you for a cool drink!!!

Evie, you must visit Las Vegas again and see how much it's changed! We usually end up there once a year for some business conference or another and the cost of meals is staggering. But the food is very good, I must say.
As a marketing person, I am amazed at the themes of the hotels and how carefully they pay attention to details. And how HUGE they are! I think I wore out a pair of sneakers last December!
San Antonio sounds delightful and I hope to make it out there one day!
