Linda Block Party Quilt
Linda suggest to Eleanor that she start a Block Party quilt for this website. Purchsed some of her Block Party books in Paducah and found them to be fascinating. Perhaps she could start one for these ladies on the internet and have them donate the quilt to some organization.

I've been wanting to make them for ages, so please if ya'll want to do it...count me in. Check them out on the online store... I have a boatload of work to plow thru on my desk, I'm eating lunch while I gab, and I don't want to be doing what I have to do today...can't wait to get up outta here and go do something quilty!!!

Re: Linda Block Party Quilt
Eleanor is currently hosting a new block party here at Quilt in a Day with a 1940's theme. I will talk to her and Orion to see what we could do about making it available on line. We have never done this before. All of her block parties become books.
For those who don't know what a block party is, here is a quick explaination:
Each month quilters come into QIAD and Eleanor demonstrates a new quilt block pattern. The ladies go home and make the block. The following month they bring their block in and there is a "show and tell". They then receive instruction for the next block. This goes on for 12 months and at the end you have a sampler quilt.

As far as I can tell from the books I have purchased. You all agree to make the same block. You decide that one fabric is to the same in all the quilts. You have to use that fabric in all your blocks. You are free to choose any other fabric you want to go with it.

We could put pictures of the blocks on the website that I'm going to be working on - either take the picture with a digital camera and email it to me, or send me a snapshot and I can scan it in.
Would that work?
