Just finished cutting my quilt only to find a mistake in the cutting directions. This is for a lap quilt. It says to cut 1 2 1/2 strip for the border rectangles. Then it says to make 10 8 1/2 inch rectangles. How can you get 10 out of 1 strip. I could only get four. Could you explain this to me. Thanks

I read your post, grabbed the book and studied what you said. I then rushed to Teresa Varnes (she works closely with Eleanor on sewing and figuring out patterns.) Teresa said you are correct! You need 3 strips! Are you making the quilt out of "Through the Seasons" fabrics?
I apologize for this error. The book has been out for a year and no one else caught this error! Thank you for alerting us about this.

Way to go, Bland50. I hope the yardages were correct and you had enough fabric to cut the correct amount.

the rest of the strips.

Cindy and Peaches,
The cutting chart is wrong by two 2 1/2" strips. I let Bland know and offered to help her if she is short.

I am very impressed that she caught that! I gave the correction to the Art Dept so it will be corrected in the next printing.

I agree, Bland should change her name to NotSoBlandEagleEye! lol

I had plenty of fabric. I always buy extra fabric for any quilt I am making. I don't always cut straight or make a mistake or two. No I am not using Through The Season fabric. Decided I wanted to make mine red, white and blue.
