New from Germany and looking for other quilters in Canada

Post by Delphin19 » Sat May 05, 2007 7:34 am

Hi,
I`m living in Germany and do quilts since 11 years. For 2 years I have had a little quiltshop but it was not so successful to get enough money to live. It was very sad to close it.
Now my husband and me are looking to get a job and a new life in Canada. Perhaps somebody can give us information how we can do this. The biggest problem is to look for a job here from Germany. Who knows anything about it or has done this, too?
Warm regards from the Moehnesee in Germany

Moehnesee, you might check Canadian websites for employment - check out where is the most expensive to live, etc. I know here in the States, the State Employment Agencies all have websites, and you can search for jobs on them.

Also, do you go to church? Can your pastor help you, possibly they have a sister church in Canada that can help and sponsor you. That way, there would be more people there to help you.

Thanks, Cindy, for your comments.
Unfortunately here from Germany it is quite difficult to look after websites because these offers are first for Canadians. There are rules that employers at first have to look for own people. But we will still look for possibilities.

Evie, sorry, I do not understand what you mean. I think my English is not good enough. Could you please explain? Thanks.

Delphin,
You might try to contact the Canadian Tourism Board. In the States, they often have information for people relocating to the area.

"bumping to the top" means that we are posting to the thread to get it to the top of the forum, so that other people will see it.

Delphin - everyone in this forum will talk to you - doesn't matter where you are - which is the great thing about this place, it's family!
