Quilt in a Day Forums

I'm posting today to voice my disappointment in RFD-TV. RFD-TV can no longer be viewed on the lower tiers of DISH-TV, therefore I can no longer watch "Quilt In A Day". We are self-supporting farmers who make our living on the farm and do not work off the farm. It is a shame that a station on RFD-TV caters only to the "rich" farmers now. As my husband says, it's all because they have to build a new Branson Theatre so they need more money. In addition to some other shows on RFD-TV, I will miss "Quilt In A Day".

As an added note, I can no longer see "Simply Quilts" as well. HGTV no longer airs "Simply Quilts" and DIY which is only airing it every other day now, is only on the very highest tier of DISH.

As a newbie, I enjoyed both these shows. I especially liked the detail with which Eleanor Burns showed how to do various things and I have learned an awful lot from her show. I will miss tremendously.

I'm also disappointed with Dish-network for the RFD-TV switch. They saw a popular station and decided to charge for it. Shameless.

Welcome to the forum, I am really glad you are here! I hope you will be an active member and chime in on all the discussions.

I'm more sorry than I can say about RFD. We pay a great deal of money to them every year to have Eleanor's show aired. To find out that they are decreasing their viewer market is a great concern to me. I will see if I can find out anything about it. I have heard that you can also get RFD on some cable stations but don't really know much about that either. Thanks for the alert on this.

If you have a fast internet connection like DSL, try to watch QuiltersNewsNetwork.com They feature QIAD programs all day on Thursdays. Just cut and paste the address, it will take you there.

I am also disappointed, being a newbie to quilting, I could have used all the help I could have gotten, this is to bad, on TV I could always save the show until I had time to watch it, the problem with Quilters News Network is that when they bring a show I would rely like, I cant save it and view it later, but even when I can watch it right there and then, my little brain does not comprehend as fast as they go true the show, I need to watch and rewind several times to learn something from the show, yes, it is to bad.

Ladies - Message me with your address, and I can make a DVD copy of the shows that I have recorded from TV - I have several (years are mixed) Simply Quilts, QIAD, and Love of Quilting. It will take some time to get them copied, but DH has volunteered (at my request) to do some copying.

For those of you with high speed internet you can watch Eleanor's Egg Money Quilts from May 1-12. After that is "From Scraps to Quilts" on May 13-25. Then it is off to Christmas at Bear's Paw Ranch May 26-June 7.

I too am disappointed in Dish-TV for moving Quilt in a Day. I really enjoy Eleanor's show and have learned a lot. Maybe if enough of us contact Dish TV and complain they might reconsider?

I have Dish TV, but we have all the bells and whistles, since DH is a movie fan.
