SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Nov 23rd

Good morning and happy Thanksgiving Eve!
Today I'll be baking pumpkin and pecan pies, fixing sweet potatoes, and gathering up all the other stuff we'll be taking to the kids tomorrow. I'll start a turkey breast in the crockpot about 5am tomorrow and take it to the kids to finish cooking. Antonio loves sweet potatoes. All they have here in TX is yams but they will have to do. I use crushed pineapple and only a little bit of brown sugar to sweeten them so I hope he likes them. I've never really cooked anything for him before. I will also be glueing all the pom poms onto the 32 mug rugs I made last year for Autumn's staff. I want to give them to her tomorrow to give out next week. After all that, I'll get back to my cross-stitching. And I just might finish the stitching today! Maybe.
TINA - the chix and dumplings sounds really mouth-watering. The quintessential comfort food. Next to mac & cheese, of course. Congrats on getting one quilt done! Did Holly find her angel? I made one about 40 years ago and we used her to top our tree for many years until she finally fell into rags.
BECCA - glad all that dental work is in your rear view mirror now. And it can't hurt to ask for grilled chops. All they can say is no. Tell them you are allergic to gravy!
Are you making your applesauce today? My grands also like my applesauce. I like to use cinnamon and a bit of cloves in mine and leave it with a few chunks in it. When my mom canned pears every year she always added cinnamon candies to a few jars to color them red and add a hint of spice to them for holiday meals.
LORI - I admire your son's adventuresome spirit! It's a brave thing to do what he's doing. I bet you can't wait to go see his new place.
I'm trying to think of what to have for tonite's supper. I've been so focused on tomorrow's meal that I'm coming up empty for ideas for tonite. Maybe grilled cheese sandwiches. We could even go all fancy and add ham in them. Bill would like that, probably. Whatever we have, I want no leftovers. Not tonite!
What is your plan?
