SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Oct 30th
Good morning,
We're chilly this morning, but my sister is at 11 degrees and it's still dropping so no complaints here! Yesterday was fun - friends came for Seahawk game. Chili was delicious, if I do say so myself, and our team won with a TD in last 38 seconds. So, win/win, literally! Today we have a list of 5 errands to run - mail pkgs, drop off 2 boxes at Goodwill, 5 quilts to the nursing home, buy a gift card, and 2 cemetery visits. Then I will make appetizers to take to a dinner party we're going to tonite. The days, they do get filled up! I also want to gather up all the holiday baking goodies I have - nuts, chocolate chips, marshmellow fluff, etc. and tuck them into the trailer. Maybe I will do some baking in TX - or maybe Aut, HER DAUGHTER, (still cant' believe I'm saying that!) and I can have a baking day together.
LORI - I'd love to see Knottsberry Farm at Christmas. I love Snoopy, too. He was my mom's favorite cartoon character. My favorite is, who else, but Sylvester! Is there a Loony Toons park anywhere?? Yes, I think the boys liked their shirts. They are a little big which is kind of what I was going for - an overshirt because the flannel was VERY heavy. So, Dearie, just how many WIPs do you have right now??
BECCA - a good report on the littles, though wish your little Gabe had more resistance. When my nephew, Kevin, (now aged 58) was little he had a similar problem so he finally had his adnoids removed. I think it helped. Glad you were able to pick up a few tips on painting leaves in your class. How was the birthday party?
TINA - glad you figured out a better way to make your card holder! I rec'd a kit for a cloth book for Amara that I forgot I ordered. Farm animals and the sounds they make. It has little animal tails that protrude from the pages and the same thing here - directions said to stitch and turn. No way could I turn those little tails! I even tried using hemostats. Glad I only sewed one according to directions. So I frogged it and just layered them front/batting/back, trimmed the layers, and satin stitched around then. Much better! I thought of you yesterday - or more accurately, Frankie - during the Broncos game! I bet he was happy! "We" won our Seahawk game, too, with a last second TD. Whew! How was the little's game?
CAROL - Can you just baste/quilt/bind one quilt at a time? I need to break up the activities to rest my neck, back, hips, and other body parts. I didn't know Knotts was ever free. The kids' dad and I took them there in 1984. Long time ago. I remember riding a stagecoach that got 'robbed'.
I think our dinner tonite is going to be an Asian chicken dish over rice. We are four couples and we take turns hosting every couple of months. My local Supper Club. I'm down for appetizers this time so I'm taking two - a layered Asian dip with rice crackers and BBQ'd meatballs.
What's happening in your kitchen tonite?

Good morning all
Mary, yes, make those memories with baking at the holidays, my grands look forward to it every year!
Frankie was very happy the Broncos won
Easton's team lost both games, their coach stayed in the dugout and didn't help them
We hit 27° this morning with a high of 51° today, we had to turn our furnace on to take the chill off till Frankie filled the pellet stove with pellets and got it going. Easton isn't feeling good so he's here today. He has a sore throat and headache. I think yesterday playing in the cold and yelling did him in.
I'll be doing some laundry today and some cleaning and maybe a few things in my sewing room. I'm squaring up more Christmas blocks so I can do that and cut sashing even with Easton here.
Frankie and Easton are talking soup LOL I maybe making soup today.

Hello everyone Beautiful sunny day here
I went to Optamologist this morning Had y eyes dilated and they are bad you

Maryz The party was great It was at a huge park and a big horse show was going on The kids climbed tree went down to creek Dis swings slide and had a fun time Even little Bohdi was there We all got to hold him some He’s 10 weeks now
Maryz you keep a busy social calendar Great to be able to I know you are looking forward to your TX visit
Tina If someone won’t get out on side of field and. Cheer the kids on they should not be a coach It involves time & energy
I do agree Sorry Easton team lost but they do need guidance
I know you enjoy those cookie sessions
Maryz I would love to see the pattern for a cloth book I’m going to Google one One of my friends here is working on one
I choose salad & Tuscan chicken over rice pilaf Becca

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Oct 30th
Good Evening,
Dinner was Garden Vegetable Soup.
I made a back for one quilt today, sewed batting together for another quilt and basted a quilt also finished sewing the binding on the Halloween quilt. Yea!!
Maryz - Sounds like you are wrapping up all the loose ends before leaving. My eye doctor's office called and changed my appointment to this Friday, November 3rd guess you will be on your way by then. What route has been decided on or are you still deciding?
Tina - Sorry Easton lost his game, but glad to hear you made a card holder. I got the living room cleaned this afternoon while watching a movie. Best way to do the house cleaning. Glad you can continue to work on the Christmas blocks with Easton there. We have Gas Company coming on Wednesday afternoon, so I want to have living room cleaned. DH was vacuuming the back wall heater, I still need to vacuum the front wall heater. I should get it done tomorrow.
Becca - I think the book is a printed one, but I bet you could embroider one with animals and animal sounds if you wanted. As I said I will be going to Ophthalmologist on Friday. I am certain she is going to dilate my eyes, so I made the appointment for 3:15 PM. I will be able to stand it much better.
I had a busy day today! Hope all of you have been able to sew today.
Carol

Carol, yay! you got the Halloween quilt done just in the nick of time.
Becca, I have my annual eye appointment on Friday. I hate when they dilate my eyes. It seems to bother me more the old.
Tina, how may Christmas quilts have you made so far?
Mary, I don't know how many projects I have going. I would guess about 5. I like doing the block lotto, because I get to try out different things. I just cut out another quilt last night and started sewing it today.
It's a kit and will go fast.
I did my dad's grocery shopping and took him for a shave and a haircut today. Then I went to my friends house and took care of her cats while they are on vacation. It was 1230 when I finally came home. I did start sewing a new project this afternoon. It's a kids quilt. Someone gave me the kit at the retreat last week.
Dinner was wine and cheese. I was busy sewing and didn't want to cook.
Sleep well.
