SUPPER CLUB - Friday, October 20th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Oct 20, 2023 5:58 am

Good morning - from home! I love going, but I love home, too. Though, maybe not the big mountain of laundry I have to do. Sheets, towels, for trailer and house, plus a week's worth of clothes, not to mention my Christmas wardrobe - yes, I have a Christmas wardrobe - nighties, tees, jammie pants, sweatshirts, long-sleeved tops. and a sweater. Just half of it will go to TX with me. 🎄 And speaking of Christmas - do you realize how fast 66 days is going to go??! I got quite a bit of Amara's stocking stitched while camped. A positive result of two long rainy days! I'm starting to round the heel! (but have the rest of the foot part still to do.)

BECCA - you will be one buff lady from all your gym visits! I wish I had it in me to do that. I hate gyms! But I hate that I hate them, too. Does that make sense? But I'm happy that you love them. Glad to have a Frankie report. I would love to have seen her face when she tried turnips! lol! Last night we got a little video of our Kumquat and she was sitting up! And just starting to crawl. And they say she has a tooth. I can't wait to see her before she's driving! Your dinner last night sounded tasty. Was it?

TINA - I think you should sew during the day while the kids are in school and leave everything else for nighttime. The world won't end if your bathroom isn't cleaned, but Christmas quilts - they're a must!! And meals in crockpots are real time (and energy!) savers. And yes, our last day at the beach was purrfect! I didn't really want to come home.

CAROL - oh dear! That's a lot of frogging! So sorry you had to do it. About ten years ago I quilted a meander pattern on about 1/3 of a quilt with the long arm and forgot to check the underneath. When I did, it was AWFUL! Loops and skipped stitches and more. I laid on my back (on pillows!)under that frame for four hours, unstitching it all! I was a young woman of 62 back then! But I learned to have sympathy for anyone who has to frog quilting!

Tonite, I'm going to reheat the leftover stew from a few nights ago. I'll pop it into the crockpot and let it make itself while I do other things. And I'll make a simple salad to go with.

What's happening on your plate tonite?

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, wow you have a lot to do after your relaxing week, I hope there's still relaxing left over. 66 days! Wow it'll be here in a minute!
I sew a lot while they aren't here LOL it's the when they're here that has me stopping. But unfortunately I can't sew for hours and hours a day is my problem. The cleaning helps me use different muscles so it's a twofold win.
Holly just told me that Jazmyne has to go home today and she'll be picking her up after school but she'll be coming back to stay the weekend. Jazmyne got a bad grade on her report card so she's being punished with doing everyone's laundry, 5 peoples laundry is a never ending job. She was only allowed to stay here if she did chores, so she dusted and mopped and dusted my van and suburban out, she was finished in about 2 hours. We keep everything up pretty much so there's not much to do plus I believe that a punishment should be specific and not ongoing and there's no end stated on their part.
We didn't have soup last night, I did Chinese instead. Tonight might be breakfast.

Good Morning,

Busy day here today. Loads of laundry, bed changing, bathroom cleaning all are done on Fridays. I still need to make some soup. It did not get done yesterday. I was not feeling well. I am fine today. I also hope to get a bit of quilting done too.

Maryz - You have lots of chores to do today as well. However, I know you must be counting the days until you leave. Glad to hear the good progress on Amara's stocking!

Tina - I also do not agree with the "punishment" but it really is not my business. Glad you are getting some quilting done. I cannot sew or quilt endlessly either. I take frequent breaks and go do a chore. I try to go by the adage that life is lived in 30-minute segments. I sew 30 minutes and do chores for 30 minutes. My hands are still sore from frogging so much the other day though.

Becca - Mary is right you must be in good shape. I go to the gym and/or walk but not with your dedication.

Dinner tonight should be Bean and Barley Soup.
Carol
