SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Oct 14th
Posted: Sat Oct 14, 2023 7:17 am
Good morning,
We're pretty drippy here this morning after a night of rain. It's supposed to be dry today but cloudy and 61*. Summer is just a memory now.
Yesterday was laundry, Costco, grocery store, and two trips to pick up the mail. It so often happens that we get home from picking up our mail, and almost immediately receive a text that a package was delivered after we were there! Arghhh.. And since we wanted that package, I went back for it (just 2 miles). I also stopped at our little LQS and bought a bit of fabric for the next few projects so I could pack it up into the kits I've made for TX. My kits are all ready to go now, and my sewing is done. Today I'll get the last of camping stuff packed - which isn't much - and finish cleaning the sewing room, and maybe a few other rooms while I'm at it. We are to get about 80% of the eclipse today I think, but not sure much will show as we will be cloudy all day long.
LORI - line dancing is such a fun way to exercise. Well, any dancing is! I love it all! I wonder if Velda is still dancing. And I hope you are right - that we'll be too busy hanging with Little Missy to be doing much sewing. They are a bit of a drive from our RV park so in past years we've usually gotten together only once a week-end, trading off their house and our campsite. But this year will be a whole new ball game!
BECCA - I'm glad the bus ride along the Parkway was so enjoyable for you. Sometimes, it's just nice to get away, take a deep breath, and enjoy the moment. And how great is it that you have a bus or shuttle available!
CAROL - I'm sure you are an excellent quilting teacher! It would be fun to take a class from you. You mentioned that speaker was from Cal Tech and worked with the Mars Rover. All I could think of was the Big Bang Theory and all the guys worked at Cal Tech and Howard, trying to impress a girl, got the Mars Rover stuck in a ditch on Mars! haha! And yes, you are right - Winter before last I ran out of sewing to do and was in withdrawals so I went to the LQS there and the only pattern I could find that I was halfway interested in was Eliz Hartman's Gnomes. I got it finished just as we were leaving.
Our friends, Doyle and Susie asked us to come over this afternoon about 4pm. We offered to bring a Costco frozen Lasagna and they are making salad and bread. We'll eat and visit for a couple of hours. Both of them are pretty much home-bound lately with their health issues so we go visit them about once a week and try not to over-stay. So that will be supper for tonite - lasagna.
How about you?
