Yesterday was our little Kumquat's first half-birthday! She's now 6 months old and developing quite a little personality. They send pictures every single day and it looks like their house is one big playpen with quilts everywhere! Good thing Nonnie is a productive quilt-maker! With 2 or 3 more coming this Christmas!
I got the unicorn quilt and backing together yesterday. It's Bill's project now. This week will be rainy so he'll have lots of time to do it. I also cut out my Narwhal block. Just one block for a 24" cushion (I'll buy the pillow form when we get to Austin). And this is the last of my Christmas sewing, except for a couple of bindings.
We're having two couples for supper tonite so today will be grocery shopping, vacuuming (Bill's job), cleaning bathroom, and cooking. Going to bake a pumpkin pie to kick off the fall season.
CAROL - happy birthday and happy baptism to your great nephew! You'll be able to be there, I take it? My family is so spread out that we're never together any more for special events. I agree about reading the Christmas story to even the littlest of the littles. Glad your hair dresser did such a good job. Is she new or just did a better job that usual? I'm starting to worry about mine. She is 70, morbidly obese, and in very poor health, and a smoker. Was hobbling on a sprained ankle my last visit, hanging on to furniture and walls to get around. And even though she only had to trim up my hair - maybe 1/2" off - it didn't come out quite right. I hate to leave her because she really needs my business.
BECCA - I had a doctor who once told me fractures tend to run in families, but so far researchers don't know if it's because some families have weak bones or if they are just more active than other families and thus more prone to accidents. It's kind of a chicken/egg conundrum. But sounds like despite the fractures, those littles in your family are having a fun childhood and making memories! I like your supper choice yesterday. I love breakfast for supper.
Tonite we're going to grill teriyaki chicken. It was going to be burgers tonite with Tex & Annette joining us. And the chicken supposed to be for us last night, but Gus & Claudia invited us to join them last night at the Mexican restaurant for margaritas and "lupper". So we punted the chicken to tonite and invited G&C to join us tonite along with Tex & Annette. So now it's 4 guests for tonite. I'm also going to make a tetrazzini, salad, rolls, and the pumpkin pie. I'm going to confess, the rolls will be Rhodes frozen. They are as good (actually better!) as any I make but the pie will be homemade
What's happening in your kitchen tonite?
