Mary, how nice to be getting rain! You're so lucky!! And you finished the lemurs, wow, high 5 to you! I forgot who this one is for, I'm thinking someone that Autumn knows?
Here eating light in summer is a lot of cold salads LOL, the cooler the better. I love eating soups but just not when it's as hot as the soups.

How do you keep your animals off the couches? Ours as soon as they're big enough to get up here they do. I actually thought or couches were only 5 or 6 years old, turns out they're 10 and have gone through lots of washings with grandkids and dogs. I noticed yesterday that 2 seats have gotten really threadbare where Duncan rubs across the fronts. The man that cleaned them did a really thorough job. I'm really hoping I can get 5 more years out of them
Carol, I think I missed who you're making the nativity set for.
Tonight is Dad's night so I put pork chops in the fridge last night to thaw, we haven't had them for awhile. I'll make rice and a veggie to go with.

Maryz - I think you are right that a less than one or one year old is too young for the Nativity, however the parents or grandparents can use them to tell a story. Probably a two-, three- or four-year-old is also too young and needs to be told the story. I do think the bag is too small and am thinking of getting a plastic scrap box (16" x 16" x 3") to keep the figures and bag inside, however maybe just another tote would work??

Tina - I am making Nativity figures for my Niece's son. He has his first birthday next week and will be baptized on October 7th.

This afternoon during zoom I will be working on the Nativity figures and hopefully figure out the quilting design for the background of the Halloween quilt. I am getting stump. I know what I want but having trouble executing a design. (I want it to be cloudy, but the spaces are really small.)

I want to make salad tonight. I bought some beets at the Farmer's Market yesterday and have a recipe for using them in a salad. DH really likes beets.

Maryz - You got me thinking. I thought of how Jana's family acts out the Christmas story on Christmas eve. In small families that doesn't quite work and the felt Nativity figures could act out the story. So, I decided to look up a book to go with the Nativity figures. I will pick it up later. It is a simplified version written for young children. It is a board book.

Becca, that's what I said too about more animals plus with what the vets are charging these days is more of a luxury to have pets on fixed incomes. The 3 we have now will be our last
Lori, I've had dogs my whole life but mom always had couches that she'd just zip the cushion covers off and throw in the washer with woolite and they'd last for years and years. When I got a house and furniture of my own I always did the same thing until this set, they don't have cushions with zippers. I think washing those cushion covers helped the fabric last longer. I'll look into leather next time or the weave fabric they say is kid friendly cause it doesn't show dirt but also cause that's the kind that can be washed.....I think that makes it Mom friendly actually
I did buy one of the nativity sets but I'm either going to make a wall hanging, tree skirt or table runner out of it.... not this year though, I'm a tad busy.
