SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Sept 18

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Sep 18, 2023 6:16 am

Good morning,

We have rain! Glorious, sweet smelling rain! I can't wait to get out and walk in it later this morning.

Yesterday was Seahawks :D , and cutting fabric for Lemur. Lots of cutting for this baby! Today - more cutting. I hope to get it all cut and maybe even have time to sew a block. Nothing else is on the calendar. Lord help me but yesterday I ordered Eliz Hartman's butterfly pattern, too. I'll make it for Sammy, Autumn's mentoree, for her 18th birthday next May - or maybe for Christmas 2024. We'll see how things go.

BECCA - I bet it's fun to watch all those squirrels! I've seen our big grays running around the yard, getting ready for winter. Love them! Our yard is a nature show. Last night we had a possom.

LORI - how did the birthday evening go? Sounded like yummily! And yes, that's a word. I just used it. I'm sorry your Camaro was stolen - and so many times! My DBIL has a purple Camaro about that vintage. He's had it for many years, restored it, and takes it to car shows in CO and SD. He keeps it in a garage in his back yard that you can only get to by driving through the front garage. But he's had 3 other vehicles stolen from street parking in front of their house, all recovered, re-stolen, and recovered again.

TINA - Happy birthday to your sweet DDIL! Oooh, new furniture! I wanna see when you have it! What style is it? How many will it seat? You often have quite a crowd! I would like a new dining room set, too, but so far we haven't seen anything we like and there's nothing wrong with our 30-yr-old set. We only use it for actual dining about 8 times a year and then just for company. But we do plan to get a new couch for downstairs family room, and two occasional chairs for upstairs living room, and say sayonara to our two white & floral 23 yr old loveseats. But probably not until next spring. If we bought it now, we'd come home after the winter in Texas and be shocked that someone stole our furniture and left new stuff in it's place! lol!

CAROL - It's amazing how much cleaner the kitchen looks when you remove everything from the counters and wash behind it all. I like to do that, too. I just did it last week when the toaster oven moved in.

Ooh, the rain is really coming down hard now! Love listening to it! Foxy and I are out on the deck, snug and dry, but it's raining so hard that Foxy's ears are flattened as he listens. I think he wants to go out to his favorite flower bed, but is trying to wait out the rain.

We have some steak left from the last two nights so today I'm going to dice it up with potatoes and onions and make pasties and salad. That will be the last of our leftovers and we'll be on to new food tomorrow.

What's going to steam up your kitchen tonite?

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, I saw that butterfly quilt pattern yesterday and thought you might order it 😉 I didn't want to point it out to you since you're doing so many, I figured you didn't need me to "help" you find a "next project " LOL
The table is a beautiful grey and seats 8 with the leaf, it's bigger than the one we have now, it only seats 6 with the leaf in. I'll take a pic when it gets set up Friday.
We got rain last night too! It was a very hard rain with masses of lightening and huge thunder boomers! It made me jump a couple times and actually scared the dogs too, they both climbed on Frankie's lap and he has a small lap! It was pretty crazy for about an hour.
Frankie wasn't very quite this morning when he got up and it woke me up but I'm glad I wasn't first up this morning..... one or both of the dogs had several messy yucky accidents all over the den. He cleaned it all up and was just starting to mop with bleach through the house when I got up.....I actually slept all night and was sound asleep, lucky me LOL 😆
We got down to 58° this morning and I opened the windows last night after the rain so it was so nice and cool and fresh in our bedroom, that's probablya huge helping factor for me sleeping so good. He has all the windows open in the den and the doors open and the floors are all bleached so our house smells all nice and clean and fresh now.
My BBQ pork was delicious last night, I'm guessing we might be having that tonight unless Dad wants it again tomorrow, I'll ask him. If we don't have leftovers I'll make either chicken or tacos.

Mary, I love sitting outside when it's raining too. We have a propane heater that keeps me warm in winter. Sounds like Foxy is not too fond of it though. I saw the butterfly quilt as well and was tempted to buy it just because it was such a good deal. I came to my senses and didn't get it.

Tina, Yay for rain for you too. I hope it's a rainy year for us all. I sleep much better when it's cool outside too. We have the windows open almost every night.

Our dinner with the kids was wonderful. We just had a piece of leftover cake with our afternoon coffee. We got our walk in this morning. Then I did dads shopping, and took the boys to their spa day. They were done by 1130. I came home and had a sinus headache, so I didn't do much. After some aspirin and a nap, It's gone. I may do some quilting on the star quilt.

Dinner will be leftovers.

Have a lovely evening.

Good Afternoon,

Yay for rain for Maryz and Tina! My car just got a bath because we have had sprinkles and made a muddy mess on the car. I am glad for the rain though. Someone is mentioning gas prices, the price at the corner is $6.09 a gallon!

Maryz - I too passed on the Butterfly quilt. I have too many projects now!

Lori - Glad you have leftovers and had a great party. Backing fabric takes a lot! No wonder you bought so much.

Tina - My dining set was built in the 1950's. I purchased it from a coworker in the 1970's. I only have four chairs, but three leaves so it will seat 8 comfortably. I think I would have all the windows open if I had bleached the floor too. Have you heard that Clorex had a hack into computer and it is affecting supply? I read that today.

Becca - Have you shared a picture of your purses yet? You must have classes for water aerobics??

Dinner tonight will be Salad and Vegetable Soup.

Carol
