SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Sept 14

Good morning!
It's a nice morning and I'm out on the deck, but these mornings are limited now. Fall is here.
Yesterday I finished my SS ornament and started putting Book Nook together. Then we heard that one of the guys who went on our wine-tasting trip with us last week crashed his bike and fractured his hip. If he hadn't been wearing his helmet he probably would have died. The helmet is toast and he has quite a gash on his head. He came home from the hospital about suppertime yesterday so we took them a pizza and visited for 10 min. Today I'm making a pot of veggie beef soup and delivering it to our back surgery friends. He's still not up and around and his wife struggles with pretty much everything. We're also going for our flu shots. Covid and RSV immunizations will be another day. I think. Also today will be washing sheets - cottons and flannels. Not sure yet which set we'll put back on the bed. Probably flannels since we're starting to use the mattress warmer at night again. I'm also hoping to finish putting Book Nook together and piece the backing. Next project will be Lemur.
LORI - we both loved our Cuisinart toaster oven but it died after 15 years and I really miss it. We used it lot. So I think we'll be going back to Costco and getting the one we saw there and hope it works for us. It's a little smaller than our old one, but will still hold a small casserole, potatoes, fries, tots, etc. I would be happy to toss the Keurig out to make room for it on the counter. Bill uses that to make about 12 cups of coffee a winter on chilly afternoons. I can buy him a jar of instant and he can nuke the water! lol! I agree! It seems society as a whole has dumbed down. Jack's license and Becca's gas bill are two cases in point. Errors are rampant. So frustrating!
BECCA - happy to hear your dental work is all done. And then you got to do something fun with someone fun! Those purses will be so pretty and all one of a kind. Will they be gifts?
CAROL - insurance can be such a headache! And then you need your insurance! lol! But a broker is a good idea. We have one and he's saved us a ton of money. Plus, he doesn't work for any one insurance so he's not going to push one over the other - just the one that best suits your needs. Glad you got your Nativity set. It was a fun project. I just packed mine up yesterday to take to Texas. Though, maybe on second thought I should wait a year. Kumquat will only be 8 months old at Christmas . . . How did you decide to make the characters?
We had our tamale pie last night and it was tasty. We topped it with a dab of sour cream and a spoon of salsa. We'll be having that again tonite. The recipe made a 9x13 which is a lot for just two people.
What's going onto your plate tonite?
