SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Aug 29th
Posted: Tue Aug 29, 2023 6:53 am
Good morning,
We woke up to 59* and drippy skies. Going to be another gloomy day today. And I'm glad of it! We need any drops of rain we can get. We're only going to about 69* for a high. I may need to find longer pants. I've been in shorts for 3 months. We have a little rooster next door just learning to crow. They sound so funny when their voice is changing.

Yesterday was all about cutting fabrics for Book Nook. Today I'll finish that up and maybe even get a few blocks sewn. But first we have to make a big grocery run, then putting it all away, and making a marinade for a flank steak for company tomorrow night.
TINA - you are busy, busy! You have a lot of sewing on your plate. How many do you need to finish by Christmas? Book Nook is/was for Autumn. But I told her about it because it would make a great gift for her boss (library director) who is retiring next year. So Aut is thinking about it. In the meantime, I'll just keep sewing and hold off on labeling. But when my unicorn and lemur patterns (both Elizabeth Hartman) arrive, everything else will be set aside. Those two are Christmas gifts and must be finished by end of Oct. Your pasta dish was much like what we had the last two nights. Delicious!
LORI - I hope today is cooler for you. What do you use to mark your stencil patterns? Chalk pencils? And actually none of the six quilts on my list are for Amara. The unicorn is actually for her Daddy, though I'm betting Amara will see more use from it than he will.
It's a family joke sort of. We've designated pink unicorns as his "spirit animal" ever since he dressed up as a pink unicorn for a kids party at Aut's library.
BECCA - I'm sorry that Gabe will have to wear hearing aides all his life, but so thankful that there are hearing aides for him! What are you embroidering on your towels? I love your tradition of keeping your handmade gifts for small occasions as they come up.
I'm not planning supper for tonite. It's $12 pizza night at Papa Murphy's (or is it Papa John's?) and Bill mentioned that, so I'm holding him to it.
What's your plan?
