SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Aug 16th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Aug 16, 2023 6:54 am

Good morning!

It's a beauty of a deck morning here, but by 11am, we'll be hunkered inside away from the heat. Going to 94* - again. But tomorrow will be 85 and then back to the upper 70's. But bad cat mom that I am, we closed the doors to all the upstairs rooms in the hallway to help keep the house cool. My sewing room being one of them because the western sun beats in there. I forgot that's where Foxy's food dish is! No wonder he was clinging so close to me yesterday, twining in/out around my ankles, meowing! lol! Now his dish is on the dining room table, where eating should take place. For obvious reasons, it can't be on the floor.

I picked 20 cups of berries yesterday in the cool morning and Bill delivered them to Doyle & Susie. We've now picked more than 6 gallons of berries and there are more, but I think the rest of them can just stay there. Then I did a few house UGH-lies. When it got hot, we closed up the house and I worked on my cross-stitch. Also played in sewing room a little bit, then watched tutorial for my Nativity Play Set. I want to start that this morning after a chiro appt.

TINA - congrats on finishing your Christmas swap blocks! What's next on your list? Where is the birthday party going to be? At Kevin's? Can't believe Matthew is as old as he is. Yet it seems Elijah should be 2 by now. Time is a funny thing.

BECCA - I'm sorry your dental appt got cancelled. Now you still have it to look forward to. But on the plus side, the dinner you chose for last night sounded delicious!!

IRISH - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY! I remembered! Yay, me! Yay, you! I hope your day is full of sparkles and sunshine, family and fun!

Our supper tonite is going to be chef's salad. A bowl full of greens and other veggies with garbanzo beans, boiled egg, thawed peas, avocado, tomatoes, craisins, croutons, and some olives, too. My mouth is already watering.

What are all y'all having?

Hi all 😊😊😊
Mary, you've done a lot of berries this year! That was so nice of you to pick and give to your friends, I bet they appreciate it.
Poor Foxy, I bet he was giving you the stink eye 🀭🀭
I'm making more Christmas log cabins out of the fabrics I already cut, might as well....I can always use Christmas blocks.
I've been kicking some ideas around in my head for Secret Santa, when my head works it out and sends to my fingers them I'll be posting it......
Next up is sewing Christmas gifts for everyone, the Grands will be quilts, the kids stuff for kitchen and dining room and maybe placemats for everyone else.
Happy happy birthday Irish! πŸŒΉπŸ¨πŸŽ‚πŸΉπŸŽ‰πŸŽˆ hope it's a fantastical day!!!!!!
Becca, blueberry bbq pork tenderloin? Let me know how it was please.
Where's Carol?
Tonight I'll make Philly steak and cheese sandwiches.

Mary, bad cat mom. Molly lets me know when she needs food, which is all the time. lol
She only eats wet food now because of her age, and I don't like it to sit and dry out. That's a lot of berrys.

Tina, I bet you are glad to be finished with the Christmas blocks. Great idea to make extra Christmas log cabins. They are great filler blocks. I noticed Carol hasn't been around for about a week.

Happy Birthday Irish. Hope you are enjoying a lovely day with your family. Will there be cake? I like cake.

I sent Carol an email. I'll see if she responds. If not, I have her phone number. I don't think she texts.

Yesterday I quilted up a couple mini quilts. I still need to sew down binding on one. Today I'm putting the panels of the Bargello together. It's a bit tedious. Lots of pinning.

Dinner will be grilled chicken, potatoes with onion, and broccoli.

Have a lovely day.

Hi Everyone,

I am fine, just busy. Just doing things. I am still working on piecing a back for my Halloween quilt.

Maryz - I bought the Cat Scratch pattern too and want to make it. I sympathize with your berry picking. I did not pick any last year or this year. It is a lot of work!

Irish - Happy Birthday! Hope you ate cake and ice cream and partied.

Tina - Thanks for thinking of me. Enjoy the party!

Lori - I have been reading here. I did not get your e-mail. (I do text, but not sure you have the number.)

In the mail today I received an invitation to apply for a one year term on the Civil Grand Jury. LOL As though I wanted to apply!! lol

I took a Sachiko quilting class today. I finished a five-inch square of stitching. I learned a lot. I would not recommend the teacher as a speaker, but she was a good teacher. She will be at PIQF and Road. She was at Long Beach too.

I am making Easy Vegetable soup for dinner. Think we will have Sweet Kale Salad and Cranberry Walnut Bread with it. I made a Farro Salad last night with beets, carrots, celery and beet greens. DH had wanted beets. We both like beets. I bake them for 40 minutes with olive oil, salt and pepper, cool and then peel and slice. They are really good!

Think it is time to add tomatoes to the soup.

Carol

Good to see you post Carol. I wonder if my email went to your spam. It's an email from years ago.
