SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Aug 6

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Aug 06, 2023 6:28 am

Good morning,

It's a really dark morning out here on the deck - overcast. It may even rain this morning. We'll see. It's predicted but it's supposed to be 81* and sunny by afternoon.

Yesterday was great! Grocery shopping, friends, and a Zoom visit with Amara and Company! She responded to us when we called her name, she was bouncing on her legs on Daddy's lap, and she's just the best little baby granddaughter in the world! And her parents are very happy that she's sleeping through the night now. She sat with us for about 20 min before she started getting a little fussy. The kids say they want to Zoom now about once a week so when we get down there in Nov she'll hopefully remember our faces and we won't scare her too much!

At the store yesterday, fresh Hatch chilies were in so I bought an almost 4# bag. So I spent a good hour roasting, steaming, peeling, seeding, bagging them for the freezer. TINA, I know you usually do about 75# a year. I can't imagine that! But I think for us, anyway, we have enough for the winter.

CAROL - I'm glad the pool is down. I would guess maybe another neighbor told on you? The unbelievable part of the story is that they lady just didn't get what a danger it posed to the littles in the neighborhood! An attractive nuisence. I hope she was nice to you. You don't want any enemies just 4 houses down! I saw Costco had a Mediteranean Cookbook in their book section last time we were there.

BECCA - I love most veggies, too. My all time favorite is lima beans, but of course, that's one of the few that Bill doesn't care for. It's the reverse for beets which he likes and I don't. To see white squirrels, mythology says, means a big change is happening in your life. You can't get much bigger changes that you have gone through this year. 💗 Thank goodness it also means good luck!

LORI - Sounds like everything at your house is now fresh and clean and smelling good! My friend who wants to do the 8 quilts for Christmas is actually a hoarder. Her 4 bedroom house is FULL, the double car garage, her husband's 24x36 ft shop, and 2 storage units are all full. It's all good stuff - no garbage - but good Lord, she has no idea of the things she has. She gets overwhelmed by it all and so simply leaves and goes shopping for more. She has that beautiful Koala sewing center, but she can't get into the sewing room, so now she's spread everything out in her dining and living rooms. I seriously doubt she'll finish even one of her quilts, but she's bought all the fabric for them all. They are on a trip in OR right now and her hubby texts mine and says she's hitting quilt shops along the way and buying more. She's all about buying the toys, not actually playing with them. But that's just her way as she travels through life. Her kids are dreading the day . . . .

Supper here tonite is going to be grilled teriyaki chicken, corn on the cob, and spinach. What's happening on your plate?

Good morning all🌞
The days got away from me again, oops.
Not much has been happening, just trying to stay cool, we were 107 yesterday.
Mary, zooming with Amara is an excellent way for her to get to know you! I have a friend who did that and when they went to visit their grand was soooooooooo happy to see them ❤️❤️
Yummy, fresh Chile!
Carol, glad the pool is down but they really shouldn't have given your name anonymous or not.
Lori, fresh smelling furkids ❤️
Becca, your squirrels sound really cool and you get good luck from them ❤️
I've been sorting through some patterns that I printed to put them in a 3 ring binder so they're easier to keep track of..... I'm missing a few and know I printed them.... I'll See if I can finish that this morning. I got side tracked from my Christmas blocks and want to get back to those today.
I think supper tonight will be chicken enchiladas if I have everything.

Good Afternoon,

Maryz - No it wasn't a neighbor that told, they did not want to get involved and they don't know the neighbor who put up the pool. It was definitely the city. I will have to look at the books. Do you remember who wrote it? The Test Kitchen Mediterranean Cookbook is the best. Betty Crocker and Cooking Light are also good sources. So nice you got to see Amara.

Lima Beans are not a vegetable that I want on my plate. DH likes them, to me they taste like starch! YUK!

Becca - I hope your dinner is as good as it sounds!

Tina - It seems if I put a pattern in a notebook, I end up forgetting I had it. Hope you use your patterns.

Dinner tonight will be Mediterranean Chicken and a Sweet Kales Salad.

Carol

Carol, there is a law that says you have the right to know your accuser. If you want to be anonymous, you don't give your name at all. Hope it won't create a rift in the neighborhood.
I like lima beans. They are yummy.

Tina, I usually save a document file and then print them. That way if I love a part, I can go find it on the computer. I purge all the patterns I download every couple of years. Yes, I save a lot of them. Cause you just never know when you might want to make that quilt. 75 lbs is a lot of chilis.

Mary, How fun for you. I bet it was great to see the little miss. A couple more months and you'll have her in your arms. I bet she smells good. What are Hatch chili's? What do you use them for? I use poblano chilis sometimes. They are flavorful, but not real hot. Oh my, Annette sounds like a hoarder. Well if you ever need a particular piece of fabric, you could probably check with her. Of course she might night be able to get in the room to find it.

We took the boys to the park this morning. I did a little sewing and then had my line dancing lesson this afternoon. So far we learned the Electric Slide, Power Jam, 10 Step, and Cowboy Hustle. It's will be a couple weeks until our next lesson. I need to do some practice on the last 2 since we just picked them up today. I had no idea there were so many.

Dinner was pizza and salad. I called it in and Bill picked it up.

Sleep well my friends.

Lori 8-)
