SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, July 20

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Jul 20, 2023 6:41 am

Good morning,

My brother in Alaska, my sisters in Colorado, and we have almost identical weather today - temp-wise, anyway - 61-78. But they both have drizzle this morning. I'm a bit jealous of that.

Yesterday I finished the Christmas side of my Dresden Neighborhood Table Topper. It's a tedious little pattern but fun. And I think Chickie made eight of them for all the families in their clan. Today I'll be cutting out blades for the other side - fall, Halloween, thanksgiving. It's Bill's birthday so he's busy figuring out his new dash cam. :D Then tonite we're going to a Mexican restaurant with friends. He doesn't know it yet. I haven't decided if I'm going to tell him or just toss him into the car and he'll know when we get there.

Our July Birthday BBQ was fun. Our grand boys are always great to be with! Alec brought his friend, Matt, and it was his birthday too! I hadn't known that so he got a candle on his dessert, too.

BECCA - I've been worried about you and all your family since I saw the news last night about the tornado in NC. I pray none of your clan was affected. I hope no one at all was! I did check with my relatives near Charlotte and they said they are all OK.

LORI - Your butterflies are beautiful. Nice job - especially without a pattern! You do really well when you "work without a net"!

CAROL - maybe you didn't remember the exact name of your motel for Road, but at least you remembered that it was 2 words! You aren't alone in the memory game!

No cooking tonite since we're going out. But if Bill doesn't know that so if he asks, tell him we're having lasagna. He likes that! lol!

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, what was Drew's news?
I wish I was part of your weather family, I need some cool.... we hit 110° yesterday, my DBIL in Mesa, AZ was 119° 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵
I bet Bill is all set with his dashcam.
Your Birthday BBQ was full of birthdays!
I sure hope Becca is ok.
I'll be taking Jazmyne in to town in a little bit and see if we can find her a party dress, she's hard to shop for for dresses because she's busty and spaghetti straps break, she needs good shoulder strap support. If we don't find anything here we'll look in Cruces while Frankie is having his root canal done.
I don't think anything else is planned except delivery eggs to Kevin and 2 of Frankie's sisters.
Not sure about supper yet, not sure what Frankie will feel like eating..... maybe pancakes.....

Good Evening,

I finally managed to get back to the gym today. It has been a busy two weeks! I have been cutting up scraps of fabric today, so I did manage to get something done. It never is enough.

Dinner was a Farro, butternut squash and kale mix I bought and then I made a Kale salad. It was very good! I think I will buy more of the mixes to have on hand.

Maryz - Glad you had a great time with your DGS. Your dinner sounded delicious. Happy Birthday to Bill and all the others.

Becca - Your dinner sounds delicious, but I am sure it is too much for you to eat. Can you save some for lunch the next day? Is that why you sometimes choose breakfast for dinner, so the portions are more appropriate?

Tina - I know we are cooler than even Lori. We have been having a nice afternoon breeze. We have been turning on the air conditioning at night for an hour or so in the bedroom. It helps us to sleep.

None of you will believe this: A neighbor four doors away, whom I do not know, has put am above ground four feet deep pool in his front yard with no fence! The pool takes the entire yard. He put it up yesterday and was filling it last evening when I passed by on my evening walk. It hadn't been there the night before. There are neighbors two doors away with three young children. I wrote a note to the councilman of our district and have received a response. He wanted a picture and a confirmation of the address, I sent both. I cannot believe he did this. I do not want to confront anyone and have asked they do not reveal my name. I hope the issue is resolved without anyone getting hurt.

Carol
