SUPPER CLUB - Monday, July 17th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Jul 17, 2023 6:22 am

Good morning,

It's warmer this morning at 61* though overcast. But our high this afternoon will be cooler at 74*. I can't figure out the weather anymore. But it's still nice on the deck even at 0500!

Yesterday was a whole lot of house cleaning, plus I cleaned out the fridge and pantry, and washed several quilts, the dog bed, and the dog. I did get some time to work on my tablerunner, too. Today's plan is to finish up the last bit of housework (DH is doing a lot of it) and more tablerunner work. Should be a good day!

Tina, I sure hope someone can take care of that cougar one day soon. Preferably relocate him but if not . . . . just get rid of him! Poor kitties!! Two nights in a row past midnight would do me in, too! I can barely stay up until 9pm! I do make a valiant effort, though. I'm sorry Holly doesn't attend without He Whose Name We Don't Mention. Events like this are so memorable, meaningful, and more important than just a party.

LORI - my mom died in 1989 (2 weeks after my DH#2's death) about 3 months before her 75th birthday. She had fibromyalgia, severe osteoarthritis (2 hip replacements), TGN, Restless Leg, and heart disease. She suffered a stroke while still in the hospital after a 4-way bypass and never came home. She was so fun and I still miss her every day. Glad you got your flowerbeds cleaned out but that meant no full bobbin for you! But yes, sometimes, I take things like that as a sign, too, that it's time to walk away and go read a book!

BECCA - Sorry you didn't enjoy your dinner on Saturday but that's what you get for breaking the rules! ;) I bet walking with ducks was peaceful and relaxing. Are you going shopping for baby quilt stuff?

CAROL - You did a lot in your five days! All fun stuff. I still have my hand embroidery project to do, too. Over the River and Through the Woods quilt. I have all the sewing part done but arthritis in my hands has severely curtailed my hand work so I put it away for a while. Right now my focus in on Amara's cross-stitched Christmas stocking. They take me about 18 months to do without arthritis. But I will 'git 'er dun!' Just probably not this year.

Yesterday I cooked up some chicken breast and used half of it for chicken tacos last night and the rest will go into chicken/fettuccini alfredo with some broccoli tossed in. And a salad.

How is your supper plan coming along?

Good morning all 🌞
I'm outside watering, I've already watered the little things now it's just the trees, we're going to be 108° maybe more today and tomorrow so I wanted to make sure everything got a good drink to start off.
Mary, I wish someone would take care of that cougar too, there's also a very big bobcat that comes through here too.... not kitty friendly here anymore.
You sure had a super busy day yesterday! I just finished my bee blocks and took a nap and cleaned the kitchen, I was soooooo tired.... but today I feel energetic so it might be full on cleaning and laundry day in there house away from the heat.
I'm thinking either chicken or pork chops for supper, not sure what to make with either yet though.
If there's oops in my post it's because I don't have my glasses on and I'm on my phone outside.

Good Morning,

Tina - I only saw one "there" where it should have been "the", but you gave me a laugh. You did better than I would outside on the phone. Glad for a good night's sleep and more energy today.

Maryz - You got a lot done yesterday. Glad you got to sew on the table runner.

I want to get some small UFO's worked on today. I have a dental cleaning appointment today. Afterwards I am hoping to meet with my co-chair so we can talk about what to do next for Intra-Guild. Then I will come home and sew. Before dentist appointment I am going to Costco for gas and a carwash.

Dinner tonight will be Lentil and Barley Vegetable Skillet. Recipe is a Betty Crocker. I do need to do a bit of grocery shopping to make it. I think I will try freezing it and seeing how it freezes. I had frozen some vegetable soup before we left on vacation and it was wonderful to come back to some frozen meals.

Mary, nice that you have fun memories of your mom.
I'm not done with the flower beds yet. Just doing a little every evening.

Tina, you are really hot. Hope you are able to keep cool inside.

I've almost got the binding done. Did clearing before it got too hot today.

Dinner was burritos.

Sleep well
