SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, July 15th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Jul 15, 2023 5:54 am

Good morning,

It's a pretty morning here and we're going to 88*, our highest temp this stretch of warm weather. Will drop 10 degrees tomorrow. Yesterday I posted a photo of my shirts. You've all heard me whining about them for so long, I figured you deserved to see the finished product! lol! For what they lack in purrfection, they make up for in love. I just hope they fit the boys!

This morning I'll putter in my sewing room. I want to pull some fabrics to make a table topper for my niece. This afternoon, I plan to get some raspberries and gather up jars and lids, etc and get set to make jam again. I'll probably do that tomorrow. Berries are being delivered to the farm & feed store this afternoon.

LORI - I think the flower & bee quilting pattern on your butterfly quilt is purrfect! Your niece will love it! I love entire meals on the grill, too. Soo nice not to mess up the entire kitchen!

BECCA - I'm pleased to hear you finally got your machine set up and got your spread hemmed. I didn't get if your friend bought the house near you orif her DD did. I hope your new doctor is a good one!

TINA - Happy Reunion Weekend! I know you'll be having a great time!

Yesterday I ended up punting the steak to tonite and making spaghetti sauce instead, letting it simmer in the crockpot all day. It was so good! We had it over penne pasta. I'll freeze the rest of it for future meals and we'll grill the steak tonite. We'll also split a baked potato and have a salad.

How is your supper plan coming along?

Mary, the shirts looked pretty good to me. I had steak on Monday and it was delicious.

I'm going to put the binding on my butterfly quilt today. DH is off to Decatur Illinois for his cousins funeral.
They were pretty close. It's going to be another hot day. It wouldn't be so bad if it cooled off at night, but it only gets down to 67. Which is what the high was a month ago. From cool to blazing hot.

Dinner will be leftovers tonight.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning all! 🌞
Mary, getting those shirts done was top on your list, I'm glad you've got them all ready for Christmas giving and yep they are full of love.
We cooled down to 88° last night while at the reunion and it was a great evening, we got home at 11 and after showers we were hitting the hay at 3 minutes to midnight.
Raspberry jam, yum yum yummy!!
Lori, are you going to post a pic of your butterfly quilt? I'd love to see it. I'd love to cool down to 67°, we're only cooling down to 79°

It was a great evening yesterday getting to visit with everyone! You all should see what they've done to an old barn, I have pics from last night but unless you saw what it looked like before..... The barn is over 100 years old and was built by Frankie's Grandpa and Frankie made huge red metal doors for the North and South ends of it. They pressure washed it from top to bottom and that old wood looked like new and they put up lights on the rafter beams, they put in a dance floor and the rest was filled with tables, it was amazing! They served the food across from it in another building that was perfect for the buffet style setup.
Tonight's supper is BBQ and all kinds of fixings.

The last of the busy days! We got home yesterday and this morning I attended the Southern California Council meeting on Cyber Security. I think I need to change passwords on just about everything!!

Dinner will be Pasta and (Turkey) Meat Sauce and a Kale Salad.

Becca - Hope you just love your new doctor. Glad to hear you got out the sewing machine. When we purchased a new electric blanket a couple of years ago I cut a piece of the old blanket and sewed it to the new blanket. The mattresses are thicker than they used to be and the blanket would not tuck under the mattress.

Tina - Sounds like the reunion was a success. It also sounds too warm, but glad it cooled down a little. The barn sounds wonderful!

Maryz - The shirts you made look wonderful! Everyone will appreciate your workmanship.

Lori - You have a few days by yourself to sew. Good for you!

Carol
