SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, June 24th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Jun 24, 2023 6:57 am

Good morning,

We're a cloudy 53* this morning but supposed to be going to a sunny 76*. Purrfect for yard work. That doesn't mean I'm going to do any, but it would be purrfect nevertheless.

Yesterday was filled to the brim with house chores, sewing, and 20 whole minutes of yard work as I watered and deadheaded my roses. Today will be laundry for starters, maybe some vacuuming, and for sure, a bit of sewing. And you never know - I might spend an hour or so in the yard . .

BECCA - mmmm.... That Caramel cake sounds delicious. I think you even gave me the recipe some years back. And I've been craving cake recently . . . . And I have eggs! Nice to spend the Fourth with Alex & family. So far we have no plans for the Fourth. Maybe we'll invite some friends for BBQ and campfire. But we don't do fireworks. Too hard on the fur-babies.

LORI - happy birthday to Shane! Is he your son? Will your quilts be judged? Let there be ribbons!! One of the blocks in that modern quilt is mine! The one with 5 different colored circles. So now I can say my sewing has been entered into a California competition! :D I wish us both good luck!! It's kind of early for fairs, isn't it? Ours are usually in Aug.

TINA - I hope they catch the big cats and relocate them to the mountains. We had coyotes here again yesterday. Seems we have a nature trail running right down our property line. A few days ago it was the bear. I don't know where they go bacause after our back woods, there is a housing development with fences. Foxy is aware and he stays in at night.

JANA - sounds like everything is working out at your house. Did the kids' carpet get laid yet? Are they moving in this weekend? And I saw your post about Michael's cardiac scare. Hope all is well today.

As for supper, I'm still not sure. Maybe we'll do some pork chops and mashed potatoes, coleslaw or another veggie to be named.

Got any other ideas?

Good Afternoon,

I will be sewing this afternoon with my Zoom friends in a few minutes. We ran a few errands this morning. Yesterday, I finished the laundry, cleaned bathrooms and changed the bed. I also went to a fabulous Yoga class and hips and back feel much better.

Dinner tonight will be Quick Roasted Cherry Tomato with Spaghetti, Salad and maybe Garlic Bread.

Jana - Quite a scare for you last night. The little girls were sleeping over too, right? Is that why you called Sarah before you called the Paramedics?

Maryz - Are you working on the shirt? I did 20 minutes of gardening this morning. I planted a leek that I had allowed to sprout from the cut off end and I transplanted a few sunflowers. DH and I together placed a net over the Apricot Tree. I want to actually get to eat the ones on our tree instead of allowing the raccoons, possums, squirrels and birds to eat them. They don't appreciate them nearly as much as I do!

Mary, yes, I hope we win a ribbon.

Carol, hope you had fun on Zoom. Do you sew and Zoom?

Jana, glad Michaels is okay. I bet you'll sleep well tonight.

Becca, I get flower sack towels that are a perfect size from Mary's Kitchen flour sack towels.

I've been sewing rows of a quilt together. I placed them across the bed, and Molly is inspecting them.
Well really just sleeping on them.

Dinner was quesadilla and salad.

Have a lovely evening.

Hi all! I'm so late.
We had chicken strips in the air fryer and a salad. We're too hot to eat much.
I'm kinda sleep deprived right now, I didn't sleep much last night. I was stressed and my brain just wouldn't be quite. One of these days maybe I'll learn not to communicate with people that stress me out 🤦‍♀️
Awwwww Lori, a Molly inspection sounds perfect ❤❤
Carol, I've been wanting spaghetti lately. I hope you get to enjoy your apricots this year.
Becca, did you get your machine set up?
Mary, I want your temps please 😁 I ran across a lemon cake recipe today, it sounds so refreshing, I'd like to try it.
We went for groceries today and I got them all put away, picked up chicken food and bedding shavings, did supper, not cleaned the kitchen yet but the rest 6if my day is fuzzy from no sleep last night so hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
