SUPPER CLUB - Wed, June 21

Good morning and happy Solstice!
We are warming up! We might even break 70* today. And I think we're done with rain for a while. My phone weather app says we have a string of 80's coming next week. But we'll see if that pans out. I love summers in the PNW - I think we average about 75* all summer long. And winters average 45*.
However, yesterday was 59* and drizzly. An indoor day so I worked on my Dec OWL blocks. Got them finished just in time to start supper. Now to go back and do the hand embroidery on all the blocks that need it. My sewing room needs some cleaning and a lot of fabrics need re-folding and re-stashing.
JANA - so kids' carpets are being installed today?? Things are moving quickly! I'm guessing they will be moving in this weekend. If they don't have all their furniture yet, lawn chairs, cardboard boxes, and sleeping bags work well for temporary living. I remember those days all too well! Glad to hear the gnocchi recipe is a keeper! Next time I'm at your house for supper, that's what I want! What kind of sauce did you have with it? We're going out to our local Italian restaurant with friends next Thursday and that's what I usually order- with gorgonzola sauce.
TINA - sorry about all the dust. I can't imagine living with that, plus the heat. You inspired me yesterday to make fried potatotes and onions last night (Bill could have cooked onions, but not raw anything). But we only had one scrawny potato so I added some cooked macaroni. He really liked it. As for OWL, you know me. When I start a project - not just sewing but anything - I almost always finish it before moving on to something else. I rarely work on more than one project at a time unless I'm in a time crunch.
BECCA - you have more fortitude than I do. I'd have been all over that french toast for supper!
So, do you have to take your laundry to a laundry room somewhere in the facility? That would be a bummer. It's a lot to carry. On the other hand, laundry rooms can be a good place to socialize and meet new people . . . .
LORI - I've found ground turkey to be too dry. I haven't tried chicken. I probably wouldn't have worked so steadily on OWL except I have no other projects hanging fire right now. Plus, I don't like having to put away the fabrics for a project, only to have to keep getting them out again. And I don't have room to keep them out in my tiny sewing room.
CAROL - Yum! Please pass the sugar cookies! I've been thinking of baking something lately, but I find if I do, we eat it! And neither of us need to do that. But I've been craving cake. And yes, the battery was found DOA in our garage. Purrfect place! Except hard to get the pick-up to it to jump. But he did it.
Supper tonite is lemon jello. And maybe chicken broth. Bill is on clear liquids today. I'll scrounge up something. Our pork chop morphed into baked chicken last night and we have leftovers but I'm saving them for tomorrow night when he can eat again.
