SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, May 6th
Posted: Sat May 06, 2023 7:26 am
Good morning,
We're going to 60* today but cloudy. Yesterday was a soaker, which we actually needed. Some of my plants have been a bit wimpy lately. I guess it's time to set our sprinklers up and get them on timers. I see our extended forecast is showing a couple 90* days coming our way!
Yesterday I had a little bit of play time in the sewing room, then shopping, and after that jam making. Cleaning the kitchen, prepping supper, and cleaning kitchen again! But the 3 batches of jam look so nice sitting out on the counter! I think today will be just a few uglies and lots of sewing! Bill will be gone back to the friend's today, hopefully to finish up the last of the gazebo. This turned into a lot bigger job than any of them thought.
CAROL - yum! Homemade tomato soup! I don't think I've ever even tasted real homemade tomato soup. The closest I've ever come to making it is Campbells and I add a can of Italian diced tomatoes and a teaspoon or two of crushed basil. lol! And I believe we just sent our rain to Idaho. You are safe!
BECCA - how strange that three babies born on our forum about the same time and all three born tongue-tied. Amara's was corrected with a simple laser cut and it was done at the dentist. Medicine has changed so much since I retired! I'm glad they did it because it's a much bigger deal as kids get older. And scary for the kids.
JANA - come August, you might be very happy to have that extra bit of snow in those mountains!
Well, I had said we were going to have breakfast for supper tonite, but when rooting around in the fridge a bit ago I realized we still had some leftover cooked chicken, so I'm going to use it and make enchiladas instead.
And I just opened a gift that arrived from my DD#1, Lara. It's a kitchen towel and printed on it is one of my mom's own recipes, in her own handwriting! OMG! What a gift! And as soon as I get all the ingredients, I'm going be making some Mexican Tea Cakes, working from that towel!
What will you be eating tonite?
