SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, April 23rd

Good morning,
We are cool and drizzly this morning. Will be cooler and drizzlier at the coast but oh well. We'll be camping!!
And I probably won't be around for the next week, so hopefully someone else will set the table./9++
Yesterday was doing last minute stuff here. We're leaving in about 3 hours and it's a 3-hr drive. Still need to water plants, fill bird feeder, take out trash, put lights on timers, lock all the windows, shut off the water, etc. We ALWAYS shut off the water to the house when we leave. Several years ago when Kenderosa Sue and Kenn left their house in Bellingham to go to Texas for the winter, their plumbing sprung a leak and it caused many thousands of dollars in damages and took 4 months to make all the repairs. She lost a lot of sewing stuff. A similar thing happened to Lyn at their Estes Park house. We try to learn from other peoples' experiences.
BECCA - I hope Denise is doing better today. Migraines can be so miserable. Nothing to do but lay in a dark room, try not to move, and pray no one rings the doorbell. Yes, of all our travels, I think our state is one of the prettiest, of course. We have ocean beaches, rain forest, mountains, prairie, desert, endless wheat fields, wine country, big rivers, Puget Sound millions of acres of forests. Personally, I don't count Seattle as a big attraction, but some people do. NC is also gorgeous - so green. Softer landscapes, the Blue Ridge. Plus, we know you also have wine country!
IRISH - so good to hear from you! No worries about slow progress on those flower beds. As Bill is always telling me, "speed kills". Sorry to hear you're still not feeling quite up to par. I grew up camping and to me, it's the best of all vacations. Tented as kids and Bill and I upgraded to a 25 yr old 8-ft truck camper when we got married and took our honeymoon in that. Now we have a 30-ft fifth-wheel, which is actually too big for camping but just right for "living" which is what we do in Texas for the winter. If it weren't for my sewing addiction, we could easily go smaller. Perhaps what we do now could be termed "glamping". Last night on the news they had a segment on a 31 yr old male eagle that was living in captivity. He took to sitting on a rock, like an egg. It was going to be sad times come hatching season and he didn't have a hatch. However, someone found a baby eagle that had fallen out of its nest so the eaglet was given to the old eagle and now he is raising it. Sweet story!
CAROL - I'm glad you enjoyed the class. It's fun to learn new techniques. I've never taken a quilting class or even a sewing class beyone high school home ec. But I've learned a lot from TV shows and some U-tube videos.
I'm not sure what supper will be tonite. I have lots of things in the trailer to choose from. We do most of our camp cooking on the outdoor stove but since it might be rainy, something inside and simple will be the order of the day. Soup and grilled cheese? Rice-a-roni mixed with canned chicken? I think I'll wait and be surprised.
Do you have a plan yet or are you going with the surprise technique of menu planning?
