SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, April 22nd

Good morning,
We've got a coolish, wetish weekend ahead but then the weather is going to start turning around. Hooray!! They are even talking about breaking 70* by next Friday for the first time in about 190 days, according to the weather folk.
Yesterday we dropped my Bernie off for a well-earned 2-week vacation, then swung through Joann's for a bolt of Pellon fusible, the Goodwill where I bought a lamp, a sundress, and a pile of books, and the beauty shop where I got a haircut. Shorter than it's been in 30 years. Yikes! I'm startled every time I walk by a mirror but at least I got my money's worth - I guess. It's almost, not quite, a pixie!
Today I'll do some last minute things before we leave for camping tomorrow morning. Pack up my sewing proect, water plants, fill bird feeder, vacuum, run dishwasher, etc.
CAROL - You really got a lot of yard work done yesterday! Nice your DH helped. I checked out your Vintage Windmill pattern. I think your red/white/blue plan is inspired! Yours will be beautiful, I know!
BECCA - NC is a beautiful state. We've only been there once, but we covered the entire state from the coast to the mountains. I have in-laws who live in Concord still.
JANA - where are the sand dunes in UT where they guys are camping? Purrfect place for the side-by-side. My DBIL is back in Yuma area right now, heading for the dunes in SoCal for a few days of riding. He's there with friends to help with something else but they plan to get in some dune riding, too while they are there. We prefer trails, like Utah's Piaute Trail - the best riding in the nation and so close to you. Have your kids done any of that yet? If they ever do and want to camp, we know a little private place. I think it's called Bullion Creek in Maryvale, south of Richfield. Owned by a very nice couple - on a creek. They have only two RV sites, but they also have a large log home next to the RV sites that they rent to groups. It sleeps 10 or 12 people. Such fun! Thanks for the recipe. I'm going to add it to my tetrazzini collection.
LORI - The guild I once belonged to also had "issues" and finally the issues broke up the group. Now, Q is my guild! I text Chickie a lot. The neurologist at UK has ordered a few different tests and therapies that he hopes might help, but so far, no real reason for the vertigo, which Chickie says is worsening over time. It could be the strokes she had, but sounds like he isn't convinced of that yet. Funny thing is, she says she can drive and doesn't have the dizzies while driving.
VELDA - your family bingo night sounds like fun! And who doesn't like snacks and prizes! We used to have Bingo at our RV rally and we even won a prize occasionally, but there were never snacks!
TINA - Great to have you with us again!! Yay! We miss you when you're not here. I'm not sure if I should be sorry or happy about your windy days. Gives you a break from outside, but then again, it prolongs the big project. I guess I could say a prayer and let you and God sort it out. Instead, I think I'll say a pray for the upcoming tests for Frankie.
Tonite, I'm making veggie beef soup from the last of the leftover roast. Bill's request. I would prefer pasties, but soup is better for us. And he loves soups of all kinds.
What's cookin' at your house?
