SUPPER Club - Friday, March 3rd

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Mar 03, 2023 7:46 am

Good morning,

Yesterday was a llong day of running - two trips to Tacoma to drop off truck and then go back and pick it up. Then a 60 mile RT the opposite direction (to Silverdale) to pick up Bill's new gun safe. I stopped at Silverdale Joann's but they didn't have any mens shirts patterns at all. They did have heavy duty snaps but my gosh, the prices of really gone up! I didn't buy them - yet. Big sale starts today and when I got up this morning I found Bill got up before me (that NEVER happens!) and he had ordered me a new 36" cutting mat in the sale that starts today. Reg price - $90. He got it for $53. Now we have to go pick it up at Tacoma store. I'll check there for patterns and more snaps. I have a 20% birthday coupon that maybe I can use. I did get a little bit of sewing done and hope to do some more today. But over in Sew In everyone is talking house UGH-lies and spring cleaning and windows. Ugh! Don't go there! It's all dirty talk! And I fear they may have influenced me . . .

LORI - I hope you can enjoy your sunny beach. And your Bernie is tended to with loving care and comes home refreshed and renewed. I purchased a maintainence agreement for mine. Free service for 3 years, as many times as I need/want. And some parts they replace for free - some not, but at 20% off. It really pays for itself. I renew it every 3 yrs.

JANA - I thought waxing floors went out in the 80's. I just damp mop mine. Actually, now I use a Swiffer. Good for Sandee and Sarah, too! Those girls are adventuresome! Boondocker sites are a great way to travel with RV park prices these days. We haven't opened up our Boondocking calendar yet after being gone this winter, but that wouldn't matter anyway for your people. They are welcome! If they pull up our pictures on the Boondocking website, they will see our yard and the site we have. We are "Bill and Mary's Yard".

VELDA - I do hope nothing is wrong with your DH. Sometimes, at our age, seeing spots is normal. I have them sometimes and see my eye dr. That's what he told me. But glad your DH is getting all checked out!

CAROL - I agree - 3 c sugar is too much! Betty to the rescue once again!

Yesterday I ended up making a bean soup in the crockpot. With all the running around we did it was nice to get back home for the last time - at 5pm - and have supper in the crock, ready to go. I'd mixed up baking powder biscuits, using Chickie's recipe, and they were ready to pop into the oven. The soup seemed a tad to brothy so I tossed in a handful of small macaronies and Bill said he loved it all! Sometimes he's very easy to please!

Tonite - leftover soup and biscuits.

Hi everyone. It's going on 2:30.
Boy! Another busy day. But not any problems. Still waiting for a call from Doctor's office, but that's expected, they are busy. Windy, windy, here and rain, lots of it! I finished another church quilt top. Cut a flannel sheet from a neighbor down to the backing size for our church quilts, and stitched the leftover for a lap quilt back. Had two flannel pillowcases, those stitched together for a back for lap quilt.
Yesterday I picked up my quilt from the LA quilter. OMG! She did a beautiful job!! Today I am getting my binding prepared. As soon as I finish pressing it in half and roll it on noodle, I am quitting for today. Supper?? I am thawing some sausage patties. Will they be served in a bun or maybe with pancakes??? I will wait and see???
HUGS, 💕 Vel

Good afternoon!

Home from the last minute things and stuff to get us through until Monday. I don't shop on Sundays. Karlie was my helper in arranging flowers for the table and other spots in the room. We did four nice size arrangements.

Tonight at bedtime, I will set out the cinnamon rolls to thaw and rise. My friend was booked for this weekend, so we will use Rhodes cinnamon rolls. They are good. When I cooked at girls camp, for 250, three meals a day for a week, we would do these rolls by setting them on baking sheets the night before and putting that into a large clean white trash bag, covering the rolls and then bake in the morning. So I will do that for tomorrow. I am also cooking up some sausage links tonight, then heat them back up in the morning. I am putting my fancy oven to work, by using the timed bake cycle to heat up the oven, so when I get home, the rolls can be popped in and baked, while the girls get everything out to serve. It's also a convection oven, so I can do two or three pans at a time. I will do two at a time. I still panic at doing large gatherings, I shouldn't, it should be old hat by now! LOL! Y'all come, there's plenty!

Dinner - I don't really know, but anything that doesn't mess up my kitchen!

I will head down to my Batt Cave after Kari is done working, I am embroidering Gracie's name on a towel.

Karlie got her report card. Seems the twit teacher admitted she has neglected her responsibilities with Karlie. The teacher last October had Karlie below grade level and was wanting to hold Karlie back. Well, we knew what this little Pixie could do and we got her past the new school, new home, pulled up roots, problems and Karlie is above grade level, working on a bunch of second grade work. She's a first grader. The teacher is now pushing harder work for Karlie, as the teacher said Karlie is bored in class. When Karlie was in kindergarten in California, she was above grade level too. Ethan is another smart cookie and is working above his grade level as well. He excels at math. What else would you expect with all the engineers in this family! Sorry about the grandma bragging.

Time to scoot,

Hugs,
Jana

Mary, they offer extended warranty here as well. I'll probably get it. And because it national quilting month, everything in the store is 20% off. Excluding the machines. But all the accessories.
Might get a few new feet for the Bernina.

Jana, you're a good grandma to brag about your littles. Tomorrow is party time. I bet it will be a fun day.

Vel, you must be getting the rain that came though here earlier this week.

Becca, sounds like you're having lovely weather as well.

It's been a busy day. I checked on my dad. DB is still in a nursing facility. They are you going to call later with a patient care plan update. I made my dad spaghetti and meatballs for dinner and took it up this afternoon. I've almost go 24 Ohio star blocks with sashing done. Going to finish that up. Jack also took me for a walk this morning. It's been 62* and sunny. I sat in the sun on the patio with miss molly the 18 year old cat. She was very happy.

Don't know what's for our dinner. Maybe just something in the fridge.

Have a lovely evening.

Good Evening,

We had Pizza and Salad tonight for dinner.

Maryz - Good buy on new cutting mat. Lori is right they wear out and need to be replaced. Wonder if cutting fabric today was easier?

Jana - Have an awesome time tomorrow.

Becca - Always good thoughts for you.

Velda - Hope your DH's spots are just "floaters".

Lori - If you do not have one I recommend the #10 foot. It is wonderful!

Busy day doing nothing of any real importance.

Carol
