SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Feb 10
Good morning,
Today is my SIL, Terry's, birthday. She is technically a member of our forum but she never posts and I doubt even reads it. But she is the one that got me on the forum back when it first started in 2007. I dreamed last night that she bought a new Arctic Fox fifth wheel! lol!
Yesterday was a springlike day here. Beautiful! So I bagged the sewing and went outside to work in the yard for about 2-1/2 hrs. Bill even helped me a little at the very end. He had been working on his own project on the RV. Scottie loved running free, barking at squirrels, birds, the breeze . . . .Anything that needed to be barked at or chased, he was your dog! I also finished all the blocks in my Bigfoot quilt and got the first row sewn together. And we had an enjoyable evening with our grandson, Drew. We got caught up with each other. Drew looks almost identical to the young actor who plays Young Sheldon, if you watch that show. Only Drew is 29.
Today I hope to get some more blocks sewn together but I have chiro appt at 9, lunch date with high school BFF at 12, and meeting friends at Port Orchard EAgles for dinner dance at 5. So it's going to be a busy day. We haven't been out dancing for over a year, and that's when Bill got Covid in Texas (the first time!).
CAROL - your lecture sounded interesting. Anything from Nat'l Geo. would be! Certain exercises do help my back/hips but I have arthritis in my thumbs and I'm starting to get twinges in other parts of my hands and wrists. It's not carpal tunnel. It's hard to even pick up a glass. Forget opening jars. I have to hold my broom with a weird grasp. I asked my chiro about it and he did some not very comfortable things with my hands and wrists but it's like medical magic! It hasn't gone away, but about 70% of the pain has and some of the swelling. And yes, my ghost quilt is already quilted but if I do add a face, I would try to do it all by hand. I didn't think about it when I made the quilt but after I saw Lois's I thought it was just too cute to not try.
BECCA - surprise supper! I hope it's something you like! 70* sounds awesome! I hope we will be seeing a few days like that soon. I remember once it was about 75* on my birthday - March 23. So it could happen!
LORI - What are all the quilt kits for? I am going to have a cleaning and laundry day soon - next week. I want to get my Bigfoot top together first, and if weather permits, keep working in my yard. The first go-round in the spring is always a biggie. Usually it gets my low back, but nowadays, my hands are taking the brunt of it. Arthritis. Ouch!
Tonite the dinner at the dinner dance is prime rib sandwiches and salad, I'm told. I'm not a fan of prime rib, so I'm taking a ziplock in my purse so Bill can bring mine home for lunch the next day. If he wants. It's not his favorite thing either, but we were invited by friends, so we're going for the dancing part of the evening. So I will have a snack before we go and eat salad there. My bigger problem will be deciding what to wear. On my person and on my feet.
What's the supper plan at your house?

Good Morning,
Yes, the lecture was very informative. She is part of Sea Legacy. They are trying to create 30% of the ocean as preserve and for no fishing. They sponsored legislation to ban line nets that were killing sharks, whales and dolphins. The legislation did pass.
I am having so much fun using my AccuQuilt cutter to cut out the Tennessee Waltz. My pattern was Sue Bouchard, printed by QIAD. I had to decide which dies would cut each shape. They are sewing together beautifully. Here are the first two blocks:
Dinner last night was Fast Hash. Tonight will be Chicken and Mashed Potatoes with a vegetable and Salad.
Maryz - Have fun dancing!

Good morning everyone!
Mary, sounds like you have an uber busy day! But it all sounds fun!
Becca, so happy to see you
we hit 70 a few days ago and then it went down to the 40's, today will be 50. What embroidery pattern will you be using?
Carol, DL California adventure, I'm jealous! Oh my goodness those are gorgeous fabrics and colors!
Lori, I'm glad you found someone to clean your Dad's house.
Velda, looking forward to seeing what you come up with for your pillows to go with your quilt!
Jana, I just don't get how schools keep bad teachers, maybe it's because they have a shortage.... But still......
Nothing new here, same old stuff different day. I'm still using the walker but I can feel my leg getting better. It's easy to stay in on cold and windy days but when we get the nice ones I want to go outside, I may try getting down the steps inside in a day or two.
Jazmyne spent the night last night and the boys will be here later, it's parent teacher conference today. Jazmyne tells us she has all A's, we'll see...... Sometimes her grades surprise her. She's in FFA and track now.
We're having burgers on the grill, mac and cheese and corn on the cob for supper tonight.
Tina

Maryz : What a neat evening you have planned. Dinner and dancing. Be sure to let me know all about the fun.
We are also going dancing tonight. Dinner before, like always.
I didn't get anything at JoAnne's today. Their selection was awful on batiks, and nothing about golf. Guess this will be put on hold until I get to the Amish quilt store, or my favorite shop, Olivier's ( his name is Ed), so I usually say Ed's quilt shop.
A group from church is going next Friday.

Mary, I love your Big Foot quilt. It's will be perfect for your friend. Glad your hands are starting to heal a bit.
Carol, I love the fabrics you chose. I have the triangle in a square die in 3 sizes. It's my favorite block.
It comes together so easy with the Accuquilt cuts. What size is you block?
Vel, I went to Joann's the other day and got 108 inch muslin and some interfacing. It's rare that I find what I need. I had 2 coupons to use as well. I love Amish places.
Becca, what's the weather like? Is it warm?
Tina, it sure is slow going on you leg. Hope you are back to normal soon. That would drive me bonkers.
I've been cutting strips with the Accuquilt today for bindings.
Dinner just arrived. Chicken wings.
Have a lovely evening.

Lori - I used the 6" Block Go!Qube for all the dies I needed. I have the Companion Set too.
