SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Jan 26th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Jan 26, 2023 4:13 am

Good morning!!

Today is the day! We will be home by mid-afternoon. Yay!! Yesterday was a really nice run - no big cities, mostly just agricultural areas and then the Siskiyous. All so pretty! Shasta Lake has a lot more water in it than it did when we went south, and, CAROL, your mountain is well covered with snow! I thought of you when we went by it. We ate supper in the casino restaurant - I had bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns and Bill has a small steak. Nice treat for our last night out. So no mac & cheese as previously planned.

CAROL - you are so right! Indeed, the mountains and the trees were spectacular and such a sight for our sagebrush-riddled eyes! I've really missed the trees - huge tall pines and firs! I even reveled in seeing loaded log trucks rumbling down the highway!

VELDA - I bet it was fun to finally be out on the dance floor again! Some music I just can't sit still! Do you ever put on music and dance a little at home? We do. Your quilt is great. Are you looking forward to getting back to your church quilting group?

As to our supper, I have no idea what we're having. Our friends said they are bringing supper over tonite. Really nice of them to think of us. So it will be a surprise. We saved our best bottle of wine to share with them over our meal.

What are you planning for your supper?

Good morning everyone!
Mary, almost home, yay! I bet that horse heading to the barn is slower than you today!
I had my xrays yesterday. I managed to get into the van on my hiney and propped up on the seat for my back, it was rough but I got er done. I was extremely touchy after we got home and very tired. My appointment is this afternoon with the dr. It's Dad's night to eat here but we're not sure what time I'll get out so I'll have to tell him to eat at his house just to be safe.
Supper isn't even a thought yet for what we're having. We do have sandwich stuff in the fridge.

Good afternoon!

Home from a good scavenger hunt. Found what was needed and some of what wasn't! Costco, I was very bad! They had a oh so yummy favorite of mine, Dungess crab, sorry Mary, you're not home yet, so I got the banned treat. I'm the only one here that eats it, so it's all mine! LOL! Tonight dinner will be Korean beef over rice and asparagus. If that's too exotic for Karlie, there's Mac and cheese from last night. She's my worst picky eater of all the grands. Ethan is game to try everything.

Heading off to go dress shopping with Gracie, Lila and Kate. Then home to stay awhile.

Mary - it's almost noon in Washington, you're almost home!

Tina - glad you got the x-rays and hope that solves the problem. When I need to get in my kids tall trucks, I have a homemade wooden step that I use to get my tush at seat level to slide in. They kids all know to pick up the step and put it in the truck. I slide 9nto the seat and use my hand and pull on my pants leg to swing in my bad leg. Works pretty good for me.

Of I go,
Hugs,
Jana

Welcome Home Maryz!

You must be home are almost home. There is so much to do when you first get home, but it is all good. Do you have snow or just lots of tall weeds and grass from the rain?

We are having a nice day however other parts of the LA basin are getting winds. It is beautiful here today. I have been quilting. I did manage to get some clothes into washer and dryer though. I need to iron some fabric and some pieces that need to be sewn into hanging sleeves and pillowcase.

Tina - Glad you got to x-ray. Now to see what doctor has to say. Prayers and (((Hugs))) all goes well.

Jana - Have fun shopping for the dresses! Hope you find just the right dress.

Dinner here will be Fast Hash, green beans and a salad. I need to go shopping but am having way too much fun to stop quilting. I do need a walk and will stop to do that.

Hi everyone. Yes, it was fun to dance again. Often we do practice our dancing here at home to music from CD or Dish music channels. LOL, DH says he might forget how. Silly guy, that's not happening. LOL. But it's fun to dance anyway whenever he takes a notion.
Tonight is our leftovers of rice-a-roni.
I had blood test this morning, so I didn't get on here until now. I was busy assembling another quilt top. Since a few ask me to share pictures, I will post again when I finish it tomorrow.
These quilts are fun, because you don't follow a pattern. You just sew strips or rectangles, or squares to create as you go.
That's about all I know for today.
HUGS, 💕 Vel
