SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Oct 30th

Good morning.
We are a balmy 50* and dry for the moment, though it looks like we'll be showery today with a high of 54*. Still not bad with Nov only 2 days away.
We had a nice day with the boys yesterday. They loved their quilts (Wooded Whimsey and Penguin Party). Buckeye Beauty had to go home with Alec to be opened later, since Matt couldn't be here. After they left we had enough afternoon that we were able to run a list of short errands and were home in time for happy hour. You DO know that happy hour for me is when the bra comes off, right? For Scottie, it's feeding time. We all have our own ideas of what makes up Happy Hour or HH, as my sister and I refer to it.
Today I'm going to be cutting up fabric to make those 30 Elf Mug Rugs for Aut's library staff - for NEXT Christmas. She said they are remodeling the library right now and they don't really have desks to put them on so asked if I could wait a year. Well, heck yeah! They are going to take me some time. I try to make little gifts each year for her to give them. Masks, tissue holders, jam, etc. The Seahawks play this afternoon so it's a good time to do laundry with the Maytags right off the family room. Convenient.
BECCA - I'm so happy to hear that Brodee has gone home. Will they try to remove the shunt again at a future date? Perhaps in a year or so? Sorry you have another appt to go to, but at least it's only seating the crown. The worst is over! Our dentist started making his own crowns a few years ago because so many from the lab he was using broke and had to be redone. (I had 3 in one summer!). And now he can do it all in one long appt.
CAROL - yep, I saw your quilt. I kept forgetting to check out PHOTOS. You did such a nice job on it. Metallic thread is difficult to sew with. I've never tried on the quilting machine but I do it occasionally on my Bernie. I have to really lessen the top tension or it breaks. Even then, it can break if I sew too fast. Any chance you could use matching thread for your swag borders instead of invisible thread. (I have to also decrease top tension for invisible thread by quite a bit).
LORI - Your birthday cake sounds pretty as well as delicious! You have a great son! What did you get for backing for your WW quilt? I used flannel - white background but lots of red and green sayings like Joy, Peace, Happy etc. Drew kept saying how much he loved the back! lol!
Last night we only wanted something light after such a big brunch and I found some taquitos in the freezer so we had those. Tonite I think we'll have stew. I'll put it in the crockpot and we'll be able to smell it cooking through the day.
What's on your menu for tonite?
