Good rainy morning,

Well, I guess I should be more careful what I wish for - Rain! We've got it! It sounds kind of nice on the roof. And all our trees and shrubs are springing back to life. Yay, Rain!

Last night we went out to eat with Tex & Annette. The restaurant did make me a chicken alfredo even though there is no chicken on the menu, and it sounded so good that Annette asked for the same thing. I sent a $5 tip back to the lady who made it for us. She was grateful to be appreciated. Then we came back here and we gave Annette her birthday present - Shit-Tzu-opoly game. They are big Shit-Tzu fans and have two of them. It was a funky, fun game but as any Monopoly game goes, it did go on for a long time - way past my bedtime - and we eventually called it. Next time we'll play my Cat-opoly game. (I also have Wine-opoly and Quilt-opoly, Christmas-opoly, Seattle-opoly, regular Monopoly, and the WWII version of Monopoly with different wooden markers. You'd think I'd play more.

In sewing news, I've just been puttering with my projects that I've kitted up for travel, checking and cutting fabrics, fusing the bits that I can. Trying to cut down on bulk as space in the trailer is limited. Today I'm going to lunch with two elderly friends. Mexican. So that will be most of my day from about 11 to 3. Funny, my sister texted that she is going to lunch with two elderly ladies, too! Though in her case, at 80 (in 3 weeks) she is the most elderly. lol!

TINA - glad you and the Covid patients are all feeling better but sorry you dad is feeling queasy. You might encourage him to try ginger, mint, Coke, or milk to help with nausea. Sometimes, any of these might help. Yes, Scottie's cone complicates everything around here, not just eye meds. I've put away things that I can that he kept banging into. But I can't move the walls, doors, or dining room table. lol! Poor dog.

CAROL - ahhh - the basting makes sense now. You explained it very well. Thanks! When you said machine baste, I was picturing regular sewing machine and my machine's basting stitch would be a pain to pick out later. But super long stitches that you can just pull out would work for me.

BECCA - how did your dental appt go? I HATE crowns. Little Brodee is certainly a trooper. Can Mom or Dad stay with him in the hospital? Covid has changed all the rules. And how is Levi doing with his knee?

No cooking again tonite. I have leftover chicken alfredo, but tonite I'll probably have leftover Mexican, too. I guess that will be enough for the two of us. I can always make a salad to go with.

What's the supper story at your house?

Good Morning,

Yesterday I worked on the swag border block from last Saturday's class. I have it ready to sew down, however discovered that I do not have the correct Invisible Thread. I want Polyester thread and have nylon. The nylon has never been used but is quite old. I have learned that there are several problems with using it. I will be making phone calls and hopefully a trip to the local store for some today.

I finished the binding, and the quilt is in the washer. I will post pictures soon.

Maryz - Glad they made you Chicken Alfredo. It was nice you gave them a tip. It is okay to putter and work at getting things going. I will also be puttering today.

Today is clean bathrooms, change the bed and wash sheets and towels. I will putter in the sewing room when I get the chance today.

Dinner tonight will be Chicken and Rice.

Carol

Mary, we went out for Italian also. It was Bill's birthday yesterday. So we did both birthdays with the kids last night. Love having all the kids together.

Carol, I bought invisible thread from the Appliquick booth at Long Beach. I use her applique method and the thread was recommended by a friend. It's wonderful. It a nylon thread. I've used Superior before and like that as well.

I spent yesterday cleaning and baking a cake for Bill's birthday. Then we went to dinner with the kids and came back here for cake. It was a nice evening. Today I have an eye appointment, then I need to pick up a quilt for the longarm quilter. After that, I might just take my book on the patio and read the afternoon.

Dinner will be something. I don't know yet.

Have a lovely day.
