SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Sept 15

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Sep 15, 2022 4:53 am

Good morning,

Yesterday after my chiropractor appt I stopped at the grocery store. After I posted S.C., Bill reminded me we were going to a dinner party and I had promised two appetizers! So I made deviled eggs and bruschetta. I've never made bruschetta before but it turned out pretty good. I didn't realize until just this moment though that I forgot to add the bit of cheese on top. Next time I make it I'll double the cheese. :D Y'all aren't going to believe this, but supper was S----n! But she did make a second entre - I think it was flank steak. A big tossed salad and watermelon completed the meal. I did try a bite of Bill's f--h. I liked the marinade. It was grilled on a cedar plank. Someone else brought rolls and another person brought a bundt cake and ice cream for afters. They were playing some 60's music and by dessert, it had become a bit of a sing-along! Fun evening.

I finished quilting my SIL's quilt, made some sketches for a possible project for my SS gift, and started cutting some Nutcracker log cabin strips. I have my first sample block nearly finished but we had to leave so I'll get back to that today. I also plan to do a few uglies and at least one load of laundry. Fun stuff. :P

BECCA - good on you for fixing that little chain! I think it's the little things that stressed my brother more than the big things. I expect CA feels the same as Jim did. And I think your treatments are exactly what I've been hearing about the last few years. Expensive and not covered by insurance yet, but hopefully, one day. Fun to share your day with Mama Deer and Baby.

LORI - I'm so sorry about your friend. Are her tumors malignant? Has she thought about a second opinion? How are YOU doing? Happy birthday to your Jonathon. And Bill did find two more shirts - the only two in his size (L). He should have gone right back to Costco the day he bought the first one but he didn't realize he was going to like them so much. They fit him purrfectly and felt comfy. They were Calvin Klein tees and I think the fabric was called "liquid".

JANA - did you get your embroidering done? When does Kari return? And that's a good idea you had.

TINA - that is a LOT of chilies!! We like the medium. And sure! I'll take a Ziploc from you when we stop by in Nov. Thanks! Did I tell you that Bill made our rezzie for Dreamcatcher RV park in Deming for Nov 20, so we're comin' to town!

Now I'm in the mood for chilies! WE still have the last of that casserole. I think it's still edible if Bill wants it but if he doesn't I think I'll make my chile relleno casserole (which is really more like a quiche). Along with a salad.

What's on your menu tonite?

Mary, I make quiche sometimes too with the green chillies, I haven't for awhile... Think I'll put that in my mind for near future..... Maybe tonight or tomorrow night😊 thanks!
I'm not much on eating salmon but I can eat a small amount of it's cooked really good, but I love salmon patties!
Sounds like your evening was fun, glad they had other for you to eat. Gosh you got a lot done yesterday!
I got everything done yesterday but the dusting and Holly said she'll do that for me today. I'm going to try to be in my sewing room for awhile today.

Mary, I don't know the details of the diagnosis. She is going home from the hospital today or tomorrow. She hasn't been able to eat or drink for over a month. She's always on the go traveling and seeking out new things. We had a trip planned for this month to go up to Oregon. We both wanted to go to Astoria and were going to drive up the scenic route. So I'll make the trip one day.

Tina, I do like chilies on burgers too. It adds a lot of good flavor.

Becca, Bright and sunny is a good way to start the day.

The boys took me for a walk, and I have a cake in the oven. I need to get something to eat now.

We're going to try out a new steak house near us for Jonathan's birthday. So that's what's for dinner.

Have a lovely day.
Lori 8-)
