SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Sept 7th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Sep 07, 2022 1:54 am

Good morning,

And an early morning it is, too! I hate insomnia, but I do try to utilize my time when I can't sleep. So here I am!

Yesterday my sis left and they texted they are in Oregon tonite at Wild Horse Casino RV park near Pendleton - 379 miles away. Tomorrow night they will be in Heyburn, ID. Then Rock Springs, WY, and home to CO on Friday. It's a long trip, one we've both made many times. But easy traveling as long as the weather is good.

I had my massage appt and when I came home Bill was off to give our friend Tex a ride home from his diesel mechanic so I had 3 hours all to myself!!! And I used it to sew. It's been a month since I've done any sewing other than one sample block a few days ago. Bliss! This morning I have chiro appt and then on to my annual dr appt. After that some grocery shopping to restock the fridge. We really shot through the groceries this past month! We might also be going dishwasher shopping again. After 2-1/2 months, we are back to square one with the dishwasher. Turns out the model we ordered is no longer being made so we need to decide where to go from here. 2-1/2 months! 5 missed delivery dates! Waahhhh!! If we don't do that, I might get my 16 Monkey Wrench blocks finished. I have 11 done and the last 5 only have to have their 'units' assembled. Then I need to lay them out with my panel and see where to go from here.

CAROL - happy anniversary!! Your dinner out sounds delish no matter what you have. Italian is our favorite. I remember your trip now - I hope you have great weather all the way! Will you travel home from WA down the Oregon coast? I'm sure you've done it before but it's one of the prettiest drives in the USA.

BECCA - it's a big job - handling the entire household plus care for your sweetie on top of that. I'm glad you found a little Becca Time for a pretty walk!

JANA - we had a touch of cool and rain a few days ago. I hope we left a few drops for you by the time it reaches UT. Is the storm off Baja a named storm? They say there have been unusually few big storms this year. I always think Atlantic, and forget the Pacific has storms, too. Most of our storms come in off the ocean but they are just storms. They aren't STORMS. You really have a week full of running the kids! The Question of the Day on our local news was 'what do parents spent an average of 157 hrs a year doing for their kids? And the answer was driving them to/from kid stuff. You are probably above average!

Last night I ended up cutting up our leftover grilled chicken into pasta with some sundried tomatoes and capers, garlic, onion, and olive oil all seasoned with Italian herbs. And a salad on the side. Tonite - I have no clue. Bill is now on a low Potassium diet as of yesterday, per dr's orders. And after this morning's dr appt, I'm sure I'll be on a weight loss diet. Insert two frowny faces here. I know what to cook for weight loss - or more to it - what NOT to cook. But it's amazing what foods have a lot of potassium in them - milk, some fish, many veggies, and more. We have a list from the doctor but I need to do more research. So, dinner plans are still unmade at this point. I hope to get inspiration at the grocery store.

I hope you are having an easier time with your menu.

Good morning everyone!
I missed yesterday, need to go read. I had an eye appointment yesterday with a new eye dr. I really liked him, he was nice and really took the time to talk to me. My eyes were dilated and I couldn't see for hours. He's the first eye dr that was able to dilate my eyes LOL. I ended up with a headache after but after I hit home and had lunch, I took 2 ibuprofen and a nap.
I messaged Irish this morning, here is her reply.....I'm really feeling pretty good but just didnt realize what a toil Lymes takes on the body...BUT I'm getting better.......My sister is still pushing , lol. She took me to her camp and for the weekend and the mountain air was wonderful....Ate alot and played cards and it was great but now, i told her i have "jet lag", lol.....
Save my seat at the table, I'll be back.......love to all.
I made French dip sandwiches last night, they were delicious!
I need to go look at the freezer for supper, not sure what I feel like yet. Maybe tacos, burritos, enchiladas? Hmmmmmm........

Good late morning,

Dinner, will be seved on paper plates, until Michael gets the sink repaired. We need to go get the part and then it should be a quick fix. He has it duct taped over the hole, for a small amount of water to drain. A very temporary McGyver fix. Take out may be what's for dinner. Karlie wanted me to fix hamburgers and French fries, so that may tonight or tomorrow. On a soft potato bun, also her request.

No little girls today. Kate's shift was canceled. So just the Ethan run to his new orchestra practice. Kari will get Karlie at school.

I have a scavenger list made, but as my brother would say, I'm not in the mood! Too hot to do much of anything. Still in the neighborhood of 105 or more.

Mary - sorry about the no sleep. Seems to be here as well. I got woke up from being too hot, but after a bit, I fall back asleep. The motorcycle quilt is moving right along. What's next?

Tina- I was so happy not to dilate my eyes. That new machine my eye Dr has is wonderful, worth the extra 25 dollars it costs in the exam. Hopefully my new glasses get here sooner than later.

Becca - hope and prayers for those antibiotics to work quickly and effectively! No fun for either of them!

Well, time to get the laundry started. Not in the mood for that either! LOL

Hugs,
Jana

Well my supper plans changed LOL I forgot we have fresh corn on the cob that we need to fix, sooooo it's corn on the cob and......? Something LOL
Becca, UTI's can sure be painful and about drive a person bonkers, I hope he's better fast!
Mary, I thought you'd sleep soundly after everyone left, maybe you need to meditate awhile before bed? Take a soak in the tub? That's what my sleep dr told me to do, not a hot bath but just warm enough to relax. It works pretty good for me.
Jana, gosh you all are high temps! We've been hitting about 92° and it's warm for this time of year but thankfully not like you and California!
My insurance pays 100% for my eye exam and my glasses but I did have to pay the $85 for anti glare and scratch resistant. I wish they'd get that machine in like your eye dr has, dilated eyes are no fun. I hope your sink gets fixed quick.
Going back to my sewing room🥳🎉

Good Evening,

Maryz - Good idea to have a massage to relax! Hope the news at the doctor is good.

Tina - Thank you for the update on Irish! I hate to have my eyes dilated. I am like you it takes a long time for the drops and I always ask for the mild version.

Becca - Sorry to hear your DH has a UTI. They are painful.

Jana - You are keeping busy with driving everyone.

I have kept busy today washing clothes, cleaning and getting ready for our trip. We leave tomorrow. Today is our 26th Wedding Anniversary and it is dinner at a favorite Italian Restaurant. We did not go out last year so this is special!

Happy Anniversary Carol. I love a good Italian restaurant. Have a fun trip.

Tina, thank you for the update on Irish.

Jana, hope your sink gets fixed quickly. I hate being without a sink.

Mary, you were up way to early. Did you get back to sleep, or stay up?

I did a little sewing today. Saw a tutorial for a pinwheel pin cushion, so I made one. It's very cute.

Dinner was enchiladas. I had some cooked chicken I needed to use. I also have corn on the cob. Maybe I'll make something to go with that tomorrow.

Sleep well my friends.

Happy Anniversary Carol! A good Italian meal is wonderful! We celebrate with that too.

Sink is working, but dishwashers are not. In making the repairs, Daniel found another suspect piece, so it is ordered and will be here Friday. Then it's a quick put back together. I actually only have a half of a sink. My sink is divided into two sections, and the one with the garbage disposal is still out of commission, 7ntil Friday. So paper goods it is, I hate, detest, don't like, abhore doing dishes by hand. So none will be used that need to be washed. Until Friday. I know, I'm a pill and spoiled rotten too. :)
