SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Sept 5th
Posted: Mon Sep 05, 2022 7:10 am
Good morning,
I never know what each day will bring anymore. With my sis and BIL here it's hard to get into any kind of project, though yesterday I did get the laundry done, sheet's washed, bed remade, and one quilt block done for my motorcycle quilt. I modified a 12" Monkey Wrench block. It turned out pretty well. This is our last day with company here. They leave tomorrow morning around 9am. Then I need to turn to and do some inside uglies, lots of outside work, get the LA uncovered and set back up and finish quilting the quilt that's on it right now, half quilted. Gosh! It's been so long since I've seen it that I don't even remember what quilt it is! And then get working on lotto blocks, the motorcycle quilt, and hopefully, hear from Autumn if she liked my ideas for the Nutcracker quilts. She's got a lot going on right now and those two quilts are not at the top of her think-about list. And, of course, there will soon be Secret Santa sewing to be done.
TINA - oh, do try the ebelskivers if you already have a pan! I bet the kids will love them! I don't have a pan and they aren't available anywhere but a specialty kitchen shop or on-line, I suppose. (I don't even have a waffle iron. lol!) I'm glad Frankie didn't get bitten and was able to dispatch that snake to snake heaven. Do they slither up and over your fence to get into your yard?
JANA - Oh, I bet you DO have to hide all scissors and rotary cutters with Karlie so close to you and "sewing" along side. But with Lila in the house, I imagine you already do that! lol! As for the fabric from the thrift shop, I suspect that someone had a nice stash, died, and her kids just donated her fabric and I was the lucky one who happened along to buy it. Once I found two full sets of appliqued butterfly blocks! I figure the same scenario happened with them.
BECCA - Sounds like you were smart and thinking ahead when you designed your shower! How long have you lived in your house? I'm working on 37 years in mine. I bought it on my own when I was "between husbands". (that sounds bad, doesn't it.)
CAROL - I, too, hope you cool down soon. When it's so hot here I can't get into anything productive. I just sit and mostly read.
I haven't heard anything from Irish for a long time. I hope she's not sick again, but off having more fun.
Since this is our last night with my sister and dbil, I think I'll make homemade pizza. It's my go-to easy meal and I can do most of the prep work ahead of time. I've loved having them here but it will be nice to be on our own again. We've been going through more than twice our usual groceries, paper towels, napkins, etc. I run the dishwasher every day instead of twice a week. I'm so glad it's holding up!! Our new dishwasher is slated for delivery on Friday. We'll see if that really happens or not.
Anyway - we're having pizza. What are you having?
