SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, June 2nd
Good morning,
Hi from NE Oregon! VELDA - I'm so happy to see you set the table yesterday! Anyone can do that, you know. I guess I just happen to always be first. your flowers are so pretty! Nice to see when I opened up my computer this morning.
TINA - Nice to have the kids at your house. Judi is sitting hers, too, while mom and dad are in Las Vegas but had to go to their house to do it. I think she is getting bored with nothing to do. Her week is up tomorrow, I believe. Bill's sister is also watching her grands this week while the parents are in Vegas. In our family our grands would be more likely to babysit us than the other way around!
IRISH - we're so afraid our eagles will fledge while we're gone. If they do - toss them back into the next, would ya! Have you ever gone and tried to see that nest yourself? How far is it from you?
JANA - Did you get the arm thing finished for Sarah? I like squirrels, too, though not when they're digging up all the flowers I just bought and planted!!
I was hoping to see BECCA here, but I guess not. Praying she is recovering.
We had grilled cheese sandwiches and salads our first nights out. Then we had pork roast and scalloped potatoes last night. We'll be going out to eat tomorrow night. We are at bob & Betsy's house. So pretty here. Like a state park only no other campers! But we do get deer and elk wandering through sometimes. Bob is whimsical - he has a lifesized Bigfoot he made up in the trees - for his own amusement and his Boondockers. (they are BD hosts, too) He also has two lifelike coyotes dangling just off the ground for visiting dogs to see. Scottie is well onto them after several years so he pays them no mind now. We'll be here two more nights before going back to Yakima. Our friend, Betsy, isn't doing too well. Ten years post-transplant is pretty good, but she is starting to fail. Breaks my heart. This is why we're visiting while we can. They will be selling soon and moving back to the west side of the mtns, looking for senior living. Bob had a massive heart attack last summer (3 days after leaving our house!). it's time to let their big place go.
Tonite's supper is going to be tacos, we're told. and strawberry shortcake. What's everyone else having for supper?

Mary, sounds like you are enjoying the trip.
Becca, hope you are getting better.
Has anyone heard from Chickie? It's been a long time since I've seen her post. Hope she is well.
Jack and Wrigley took me for my walk this morning. We did a fast pace walk. They really get going.
We're having another UFO challenge at guild starting in June, so I need to pick which projects to finish.
I have lots of choices. lol
Dinner will be chicken wings.
Have a lovely day.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, June 2nd
Hi everyone. Thanks for compliments on my flowers. We went to one of the bigger towns near us to visit a Goodwill store and have breakfast at a neat restaurant there. So full now, can't even imagine that I will be hungry again tonight. LOL. Might make it a sandwich supper and pop some popcorn later??
I found a beautiful summer skirt in a bold lime and black print. Hard to describe, but it is cheery and bright. I need something more summer-like. Color tag indicated 1/2 price. So I got skirt and a top for $5
I love bargains.
I have to get on my laptop and order some wide flannel for the quilt we are making to give to our missionary family.
Yesterday I squared away details with our long arm gal who is going to do the quilting.
I needed to know how much extra inches she likes for getting it loaded properly. I have to add a two inch basted border on top and bottom of our backing to help with rollers, I guess?? And she said two yards of the flannel will work. I will get that ordered today. Using Fabric.com.
Praying for our Becca. I miss her, too.
Glad your vacation has been fun and relaxing, Maryz.
Lori, so I gather that your UFO challenge is working on your own UFO's. I will be working on one of mine for my next project.
I had never finished my "Sew along" quilt from when MaryQ and Katy hosted that project.
Hoping to sandwich and get ready to try hand quilting??? Might be a UFO for me for quite a long time. LOL

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, June 2nd
Good afternoon!
Just goofing off around here. Heading shortly downstairs. Got the date our Daniel will be here. July 5th - they want to drive straight through, but that may be tough, with a moving truck and towing cars. It's a 12 hour drive from there to here. So now the final emptying begins.
Sarah and Michael worked on the final calculations for the landscape plan. Sarah and Michael are both very good at the logistics of getting all the squirrels to behave, and stay in a row! We may be on a scavenger hunt for all the plants needed. Buying ahead and keeping them in their pots for awhile. Sod isn't a problem, Sarah will just have the owner save me a section of the special hybrid grass and cut it when we need it. Sarah has a crew to install it as well.
Dinner - orange chicken over basmati rice and a veggie to be named later.
Miss our Becca and Chickie too. Prayers for all.
Hugs,
Jana
