Good morning,
Kind of a melancholy day here - the anniversary of my Michael's death. I would like to go to the cemetery which is only about 1/2 mile by crow but 1-1/2 miles by car, which is recommended. But it fronts the very busy Highway 16 and even on non-holidays you take your life in your hands trying to get out of the cemetery. I will go another day. Today I will do whatever I feel like doing. And I better feel like doing laundry!!
We MAY might possibly be getting some help for Vicki. The Code Enforcement guy came by and inspected her property - or what he could see of it from our place. He didn't go on her side. and because everything is fully leafed out now he didn't even see the worst of it, but he saw enough. And when he saw her moss-covered abandoned car at the back of the property that kind of clinched the deal. I guess that's totally illegal, along with all the large appliances (5, including 2 fridges which is a BIG no-no) in the driveway. And he got to see her in action out in the middle of the road shaking her walking stick at cars as they tried to inch by her. He said this can't be allowed to go on and is talking to the GHPD chief, the sheriff, and apparently one officer that is assigned to her case. But wheels grind slowly so it will probably take the summer - if he can make it happen at all. Bill has access to the case records on-line and the guy posts every move he makes on her case, so we can track it all. Fingers crossed.
TINA - if your mouth sores don't go away soon, you might consider going to a doctor about them. In the meantime, a diluted hydrogen peroxide rinse after eating might be in order. Thrush is a yeast infx and yeast feeds on sugar, so keep that in mind. usually thrush is an all over infx, not spots.
CAROL - I have astigmatism, too. So I've always needed a little extra help with close work, though now my vision has kind of swung the other way, which my doc says isn't uncommon.
IRISH - how is Baby Girl? And did I see a train wreck in your neck of the woods? I immediately thought of our eagles! I know the train track and river are close to their nest.
I e-mailed Becca about a week ago and have heard nothing back. I think I'll snail mail her a note. I worry. she was suffering so much with her TGN. and then her BP was dropping again. But CA's health is also precarious.
Supper for us tonite is going to be orange chicken with jasmine rice. And a salad.
How about you??

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, May 29th
Good morning!
Rainy day here and we will stay quite cool. Church is in a short while and I am mostly ready.
Mary - yes, we have sad days like those. And there is hopeful news on Vicki. I keep wishing that someone can help, so there can be some bit of a better life for her. Glad you are snail mailing Becca, I have been worried too.
Not much here. Should be quiet. Only one around today will probably be Ethan. Hopefully will see the Batt Cave later. If Ethan comes down, we may make a batch of cinnamon rolls, with a sticky topping of caramel and pecans. I am in the mood for some, but need to share.
We will do our usual brunch food, late this afternoon and that will cover dinner too.
Time to finish getting ready and practice a bit more on the hymns I am conducting.
Hugs,
Jana

Hi everyone!
I'm late to the table again.
My sores are almost gone, just have the last 2 way in the back. They were definitely canker sores and not thrush. I guess I caused them by burning my mouth, never done that bad before. I finally ate normal today. I rinsed my mouth with salt water, it really helped the pain.
Mary, I sure hope they finally help Vicki and in doing so it helps you and all the neighbors. I called Becca but could only leave a message. I hope she's alright.
Jana, yoooouuuuuu got rain! I'm totally jealous! I love those rolls too, yum!
We've been having wind and dirt. Chickie sid they had wind but they were green and lush with the rain they've had.....I drool over you all's rain you know.
I made smothered burritos for supper, they were extra good LOL probably because of what I've been eating.
Did you all see the Jiff peanut butter recall
I have an unopened one that's on the recall.
