SUPPER CLUB - Wed, May 4th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed May 04, 2022 7:19 am

Good morning!

Today is going to be a nice, nice day - 65* and sunny! I can dig it! and that's what I'll be doing - diggin' it. Yardwork today! The rains are coming back tomorrow (I hope!) and I can rest again. And my fabric and new pattern book should be here today or tomorrow. Also, Bill has Penguins half-quilted so soon I'll have binding to do. I already have it and the label made. But I did get some cleaning/reorganizing done in my sewing room yesterday before going outside for an afternoon of yardwork. Today will be mostly all yardwork.

We decided our contribution to "Aut-onio's" picnic wedding "reception" will be a short video of us doing a fancy waltz so we danced out in the driveway yesterday to see just how rusty we are. Pretty rusty! The slope of the ground and Scottie lunging and growling at our feet and pantlegs didn't help any, but , yep - we are R-U-S-T-Y! So a bit of practice is in order and then someone to video us. Right now all our friends are out of town and we gave our camera tripod away!

Not much else is happening around here right now. As I was working in the yard I saw Vicki was heaving things out of her garage door, tossing them to the side (OUR side) of her house. Then it was quiet for a while, and pretty soon, her she comes down her driveway, being escorted by a young man and an SUV slowly following. She had been out on the road again and again a Good Samaritan stopped and got her out of traffic and brought her back to the house. Amazing she will allow strangers to come inside her house, but won't even talk to us.

BECCA - I'm glad your son and his new bride look so happy in the pictures. Will they be visiting you soon and share more photos and tell you all about it? I doubt with Covid we'll be seeing A&A here for a very long time. It's 2500+ miles one way, and they won't fly right now.

CAROL - today is a rough day for you, but not as rough as it used to be, so there is one bright spot.

LORI - how did you do bowling?? I also have a ball and maybe shoes if I opened up my bowling bag and looked. But I haven't bowled in MANY years. Mike and I were on a league about 47 years ago and my average was 132, I think. It looks so easy, doesn't it.

VELDA - what pretty table settings! I really like the color scheme, too, for a musical event - black and white, just like piano keys!

STREAK - oh, that's so sad about the cows getting electrocuted! But at least they were thinking and put them to good use.

IRISH - you need to come back! Your eaglets need you! Big storms yesterday - the same band of weather that brought tornadoes to the midwest hit our eagles. They and their nest are OK, but it was an awful night for them and now they are trying to dry out. They are doing a lot of "nestorataions" today. And the littlest eaglet, "Eighteen" isn't being very active today. He needs Gramma Irish to cheer him on.

I have enough spaghetti sauce for many meals to come! By design. We ate pasta for two nights and I still froze five 2-cup packages. Tonite will be grilled pork chops. and maybe potato packets on the grill and coleslaw. I've still got that chicken & rice soup in the back of my mind but today is grilling weather and I'm not going to use it on a meal cooked in the house.

Good Morning,

Maryz - I hope it is easier than it used to be. The solution is prepared and chilling. I am hoping having a low fiber diet the past few days will help. I intend to pamper myself a bit this morning. I will be sewing this afternoon during the sew-in on Zoom and then begin. I have read to start a couple of hours earlier than the doctor tells you so you can sleep during the night. I will need to get up at 4:00 AM tomorrow to take the last liter. My appointment is at 8:15 AM.

A dance video sounds lovely. Hope the practice removes all the rust and the dog calms down a bit! It sounds very nice.

Jana - Oh, so sad about the cows! Glad they were able to use the remains at the zoo.

Vel - Such a pretty table you posted yesterday! You will enjoy your preparation time much more than I will enjoy doing mine!

Becca - Enjoy your walk today. I would love to be going, but do not want to risk getting too hungry.

Have a great day everyone!
Carol

Here it is Hump day, again! Tonight is our ladies event at church. I go about one this afternoon to help prepare the baked potato 🥔 about 45 of them, for the oven. Since I am living so close, I have been asked to walk over and check on how done they are closer to dinner and will turn ovens down then to keep them warm.
Star Wars Day! May the 4th (Force) Be With You! My youngest two sons and grandson are huge fans! DH and I too, but not fanatic like the boys. We sent all a text to greet them first thing this morning and DH is busy watching movies. Perfect day for him, since I have so much going on today, he has lots to watch today. LOL.
I baked an angel food cake this morning. We will have a slice with strawberries 🍓 tonight as a snack before bed.
Have a fabulous day!
HUGS, 💕 Vel

Good afternoon!

On my phone on a traipse for Sarah and her sod trucks. First we needed to rescue on sod truck - where he had to deliver is a beast of an area and so we helped him back the rig around to get the delivery made. The neighbors are snobs in this development and were giving him grief, but Sarah and Michael to the rescue! Michael can look mean when he needs too. Then up into downtown SLC to figure out a route for a future delivery. Got that taken care of. Now looking at cabinets for her butlers pantry. No wonder I don't get anything done!

Dinner -air baked banned and a cheesy twice baked loaded potato. I will bake a extra for breakfast potatoes tomorrow.

They are back, got to go, I am the driver,

Hugs,
Jana

Mary, I hadn't bowled in many years either. 70 was my high score. We did have fun though.
There were 6 of us from our quilting group. Hope you were able to work in the garden before the rain. Great idea to make a dancing video.

Carol, hope all goes well for you tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you in the morning.

Vel, an angel food cake sounds yummy.

Jana, there always seems to be something to do other than sewing. Glad you were able to help Sarah.

Dinner was grilled chicken, potatoes and onions, and broccoli and zucchini.

Sleep well ladies.
