SUPPER CLUB - Monday, March 14th

Good morning,
We're 43* this morning and light rain. Going to heavy rain and 46* later today. Sigh. I was hoping to grill some burgers tonite, but maybe we'll find something else to eat - or else broil them.
March is whizzing by! We have 17 birthdays in our family or circle of friends this month. I'm so afraid I'm going to forget someone even though everyone is on our calendar. Today is my nephew's.
It's been a busy weekend around here. We did a major stocking up trip to Costco so I cleaned out our pantries and freezer and got organized. Again. We got our downstairs almost back together after the electrical work, and Bill is down to one last quilt, and I finally finished putting together the last QIAD comfort top from all the donated blocks. That was a marathon! Today - finish putting furniture back in place downstairs and give it all a good cleaning, do laundry, clean my sewing room, and maybe Bill and I will get started quilting that quilt. This one is going to be a combined effort on both our parts.
VELDA - You and I have a similar outlook on quilting! That photo looks a lot like some of the backs I've made over the years! Actually, I kind of like that look, especially when it's done with scraps of fabric from the front. I'll try to add a photo in here of the top I put together yesterday.
LORI - I've never seen that Jen Kingwell video but I bet it was interesting. I just choose what I'm feeling at the moment. Usually, I'm happy with my choices. It's nice that you have friends to go sew with. All my sewing buddies are right here on QIAD. I have none near me in "real" life. But once Mary Q and Sue were both here at the same time and we all worked like demons to make a quilt in a day for someone on here who needed comfort. It was a fun day for us, even all working together in my tiny sewing room.
CAROL - I'm halfway there with the cleaning. I wouldn't let Bill put any furniture back in place until I'd swept and mopped. I told him he had to let the floor dry and his eyes lit up. I returned 15 minutes later and found him sound asleep in his recliner, a quilt over his face! lol! I like your corner block ideas for your quilt!
I'm thinking about those Yankee Dip sandwiches I've been wanting to have. We grill them outside usually and I don't know if my griller will want to stand out there while they cook. So - we may end up putting them under the broiler in the house. Or have frozen chicken burgers instead. And a salad. I would love potato salad on the side, but we usually go with a green salad instead. Our concession to our aging diets.
And you?
