SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, March 10th
Good frigid moring!
28* here. Brrrr!!! But warming to a cloudy 47* this afternoon. No sewing today. In fact, no nothing today. The power company is arriving at 9am to cut power to the house so the electricians can install a new electrical panel. They estimate this will be an all day long thing so I guess I'll be moving to the trailer and working on my cross-stitch and listening to my audio book. At least the work is downstairs in the family room, not upstairs in the general living space. I have to make a run to the post office and I'm on standby to drive my neighbor to the ER for back pain. She thinks she can do it herself, but we'll see. I would like to think her hubby would take her but he's a landscaper and may not want to lose the last dry day before the rains come back.
Bill has my North Star about 1/3 quilted, and I made the label and binding for it, so that's ready to go when he's finished. I also finished up a postage stamp quilt top - just 48x48. I'm a scrap ho and have always saved 1-1/2" squares to use as jump scraps. I make strips of 12 squares and then sew them together and eventually - in about 10 months - I have a quilt top to donate. This is my third one, but I've decided it's my last one. Life is short and getting shorter so I've decided to let those tiny scraps go. Only saving 2" stuff from now on. I cleaned my sewing room and got out the 'ingredients' for Autumn's garter. I'll make that this weekend. So, no danger of anyone being bored in this house!
TINA - no, the electrical panel isn't blocks by bookcases. They are 3 foot tall and against the same wall so we are moving them, so the electricians don't have to bend over them to reach the panel, and to protect the bookcases and the books. The men will be using a reciprocating saw to cut wall board for the new panel and there will be dust everywhere.
CAROL - now I see it! Wow! That will be a showstopper quilt when you get it all together. Did you say it's going to be all greens and white? Thanks for the pic!
IRISH - I love the cards. I forget what it is you play - always the same game or are you an equal opportunity card player? If it's strip poker, please tell me you are playing Go Fish! We won't tell anyone Nick's secret, but fun to think about! Would she be an English girl, do you think? Foxy started his life with us in the RV when he was 8 months old. We adopted him in Texas, so he is accustomed to his home on wheels. Our older cats before him adjusted to it, too, mid-life. Maybe if you fly, you can take Baby Girl with you and tuck her under your seat in a carrier? She is such a pretty cat!
Jana,Jana, JANA - you rule-breaking rogue, you! I did read your recipe. Like a car accident, I couldn't look away. And it did sound good. Almost made me wish I liked your pond fruit. But maybe it would work with chicken . . . .
I e-mailed Becca last night to see if all is well but have had no answer yet. Gosh, I do worry when I "lose" one of you for a few days! Becca's birthday is coming up soon, too - March 22nd.
With no power to the house and not knowing how long this work will take today (they say all day) we might just be having delivery pizza. I'm going to put some lunch stuff in the trailer fridge so we dont' have to open our kitchen fridge while power is off. And we can always cook in the trailer, too, on the propane stove so soup and grilled cheese is a definite possibility.
What are the possibilities at your house?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, March 10th
Good Morning,
Maryz - Over in Chit-Chat today you said you were taking Triaminalone. That is what the doctor gave me as well. It works great, although my left thumb seems to be resisting the treatment.
Glad all of you like the rendering. I used fat quarters that were given to me last June by the Guild members after my first year as President. I decided to use them to make this quilt and cut the fabric and made kits for the members to make blocks. Usually, the members make a block for the President at the end of the second year. I sorted light greens and dark greens and used them to make the kits.
Today I have an eye appointment, as a follow-up on the SLT surgery. The doctor wants my pressure much lower, so I hope it is lower. I want to be taken off one of the drops. The drops are making my eyes red all the time and tear throughout the day.
Tonight, we will have chicken and potatoes. Both are leftovers.
Carol

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, March 10th
Hi everyone. On our way home from appointment. We had good news for DH. Stopped by the bigger Walmart in this city. Found a grill pan that I wanted for using in my air fryer. I am trying to practice more recipes. I made a new thread to share tips and recipes.
Now as soon as we get lunch, I plan to sew the rest of the day.
Supper tonight is hot dogs in air fryer and leftovers of potato salad from last night.
Last night I made Sloppy joes and froze the leftovers, so tonight I will do the hot dogs

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, March 10th
Good afternoon!
Finally home from the early morning run to Costco. Found everything and then got the truck battery from there too. Then went to Aaron's and he met us there and changed the battery. Just as he finished tightening the battery terminals, he got called to back up another officer on a domestic violence call. So Michael finished and put the truck back in his driveway. Started right up! Then we came home, put away the cold stuff and then went back to Costco to give them the old battery and get the core deposit back. Finally home!
Got the mail and my new tenny runners were there. Oh they are slick to put on and fit so comfortably . They look like a tied lace up pair, but they are slip ons.
Dinner is noodles tonight. Broth is ready and I will make the fresh noodles in a little while.
Snow is on the ground, but the roads are clear. And it's COLD outside. The high may make it to 20, but I doubt it!
Oops, being paged,
Hugs,
Jana
