SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, March 8th

Good morning,

After some pretty nice days (for March) the rain is starting now. And I leave for my walk in about an hour. Sigh. Well, no one has ever accused me of being so sweet that I'll melt, so forward ho!!

Scottie has a hair appt today. He HATES having his hair messed with - baths, brushing, cut - hates it all! So it's worth it to us to pay someone else to do it! lol! But he'll be so pretty when he comes home. The first time we did this, they spritzed him with a foo-foo scent and when he came home, the cats took one whiff of him and started hissing and spitting at him. He looked like their dog, but he sure didn't smell like it! LOL! We told the groomer NO MORE FOO-FOO!

Yesterday I got the binding sewn onto one side of my TN Waltz. Today I'll make the label and finish the binding and then look for a pretty bag to put it in. I hope to see my friend March 25 to give it to her. The date for our little group of former co-workers semi-annual luncheon (though not since Covid) was just set last night. I hope Marilyn is well enough to make it - otherwise, we'll have to go delivering. My North Star will be ready for the frame this morning so hopefully Bill has time to load 'er up! Then I will make label and binding for this one, too.

IRISH - You're here! Yay!! I had to laugh at Kathy's description of the races. My DBIL LOVES racing. My sister describes it as "Drive like he$$, turn left. Drive like he$$, turn left". She is NOT a fan. I'm glad Nick is getting to see more of the world, and some very nice parts of the world, at that. How much longer does he have in the service? and Steven, too - how long does he have? Or do you think they'll be career guys? TN is quite a ways to go visit, but I know you'll do it. You're not a big stay-at-home-body either! But it does bum me a bit that your Baby-sitter might be moving. I hope you have back-up! We have no one to watch our pets so they always go along. Good thing we RV! Yes, we have a week out starting March 13. We keep adding days to that trip so now we'll be gone for 6 nights instead of our original 4. Another week in April - also to the ocean but a different campground. and then in June we're going east over the Cascades to Yakima for 4 nights - wine tasting. Though fuel prices may soon be slowing our roll. Our Alaska trip is now in jeopardy. We found tons of old photos when going through my parents' things. My SIL just tossed them into a big box and put them next to the fireplace to burn. But I snagged them and later went through them all. By comparing backgrounds, the few notes on the backs, etc., I was able to "meet" my great -grandparents! I'd never even know their names! They turned out to be very precious indeed.

LORI - I know your dad is grateful for your computer expertise and willingness to help. If I ever lose my Bill, I'm going to give you a call! What is your class that you are taking now?

JANA - haha! You truly overestimate me! I'm just obsessed with quilting and sew several hours most days. My sister says I need therapy. I say quilting IS my therapy! I have no idea what you said to Tina about pressurizing the house, but it does make sense if there's higher pressure inside, then the dirt will have a harder time getting in. I say wrap the west side of the house in plastic wrap! I was the picture person in our family. After I got them all sorted and identified, I tossed the ones that meant nothing to anyone, then made a "heritage scrapbook" for all my siblings and my 3 kids. I never did get round to making one for myself, though.

TINA - is the dirt storm over for now? Are you back to painting today?

CAROL - wow! 100 kits! I bet that didn't take any time at all!

I think we'll have tamale's for supper tonite. The last of my homemade tamales. They turned our pretty good for my first try. I will make them again one day if for no other reason than to use up the last of my dry cornhusks. They take up too much room in my pantry! We'll also have refried beans and a salad.

How is your supper story going to read?

Hi Mary. I forgot that it was TN Waltz that was the gift for your friend. I thought you were busy trying to get it finished before March 26.
I know you get projects completed really fast though.
The fabrics in our project room at church is so abundant, that I doubt if we will ever get it all sewn. LOL I should take a picture someday and share it here. 🤗
Well today I am planning another Air Fryer meal. But since it is forbidden to mention the word, I guess everyone can try to guess.
It is suppose to be quite healthy, and I have had it at a restaurant, but have not tried to make it a home.
We will have macaroni and cheese with it. If we don't like it, then we can fill our tummy with that. ☺️
I will keep you all posted as to the outcome.
Off to my sewing..... 🧵 🪡

Good morning all!
Mary, I really think you need to be sharing all that rain! Poor Scotty LOL mine don't like the foo foo either, they'll roll in anything stinky first chance they get. So we always say no to it too.
Yep painting resumed yesterday and will continue today. I think we'll be out of paint today so we'll have to go get more Saturday probably. I'd like to get a visit in with Kevin, Maria and Matthew at the same time. I think we need 4 more gallons to finish the east side and back. Plus we'll buy the window we're replacing. I need a new sprinkler anti syphon valve, more rollers, and another 5 gallon bucket of kilz. I'm making a list so hopefully we don't forget anything.
Velda, does your supper start with sal and end with mon? Sounds like your church really has a lot of fabric donations, that's awesome!

Have you all checked out Valerie's post in Projects from the Heart? I'm going to try to contribute to it.

Well I just need to swipe the dust mop across the floor and the duster thingy across the furniture from what settled overnight, not a lot but we had the air purifier on till almost bed time, we don't run them at night, they are too small to go all night without being checked and cleaned and filled. I'm going to be looking into bigger ones soon.
Supper tonight will be something with either chicken or I might just make a smothered burrito and salad.
Tina

Good afternoon!

Been fussing around here, not getting much done. Dinner is easy - a turkey sandwich. Sarah is bringing me a onion, I'm out, so I can start soup for another meal. I am also going to roll and do some enchiladas for the freezer for a future day.

It's starting to snow across the valley from me. We will get snow later this afternoon. The proverbial they say about 5 inches of really fluffy dry snow. Dry snow?

Michael's foot is doing better today. He was wearing his flip flops working out in the garage when the box of nails fell on him. He is still puttering around organizing all his stuff. There's a bunch that needs to go out to the barn, but flip flops and snow don't mix well. The goal is to make room for my Solara to live once again in the garage. That will make space for Daniel's cars in the driveway. You can park cars 2 deep in the driveway before the sidewalk starts. Me, just pitch most of the stuff to Acme landfill! All that isn't fabric - LOL

I've been shopping this morning too. My watch no longer works, it was a cheap $10 watch from Walmart, so it was replaced, Michael decided he wanted a couple of new jeans. Then he wanted a headset for the new cordless phones we got, so I shopped from the comfort of my recliner. Now I need to go post everything to the Quicken, otherwise I will hear, what's this charge for?

Time to scoot off,
Jana

We are having Parmesan Chicken this evening, potatoes, salad and broccoli.

Jana - I have a Henkels Knife holder in my drawer. I really like it. I never used the block that sits on top of the counter. I have a lot of stuff that does sit out, i.e. coffee maker, Kitchen Aid mixer, and did not want the knives sitting on the counter.

Mary - You certainly made short work of that quilt! Good for you! I just managed to cut out and package 7 of the 28 paper pieced blocks. (I am trying to make the fool proof so the 100 Autograph blocks are over-sized and paper pieced should come out the correct size.) The Paper Pieced one is from EQ8. I have a third PP one as well, but only four (for the corners)of those will be made.

It would be a delight to sit at any of your tables tonight. It looks like Charlie made some sort of pasta last night after I went to bed, which we will have for supper tonight.
