SUPPER CLUB -

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Mar 03, 2022 6:35 am

Good morning to everyone!

We're 42* here, going to 47* with a possible shower late afternoon. Not too bad for early March!

Not a lot going on here - just sewing and quilting. Quilting and sewing. The past week of wet weather has kept us inside. And there's not much else to do inside - unless you count cleaning and no one wants that! I have a shelf full of large flannel scraps left from past quilt backs so I was serging coordinating pieces together to make more quilt backs. And cleared off half a shelf! Yay for that! I have a massage appt at 11am so I may relax the rest of the day. My last massage was October. I'm ready!

VELDA - great quilt! Doesn't it feel good to use up things, do something you love doing, and help others in the bargain! It's win/win/win!

LORI - shopping for a new machine?? Fun! I have to say I LOVE my Bernie! I'm on my third one. But Cindy G didn't like her Bernie. You have to oil Bernie's and she didn't like doing that.

MARY ROSE - thanks for the tips on cooking beans. Now if I can just remember them. I better put another sticky note inside my cupboard door! And I guess I better make up a pot of beans pretty soon! My sis and I split a 25# bag of dried pinto beans last year and I still have some of them left.

BECCA - Good to have my bean lesson reinforced! Thanks!! Bill's mom used to make cowboy beans, too. She put cooked hamburger in hers. Yes, you win the errand running prize! Poor you!

JANA - people keep saying the housing market will correct soon, but so far here it's still raging. Our news did a big story on it last night. There were only 7 houses in all of Seattle under half-million and they were dumps in bad areas. They showed one house going for a million bucks - a simple 2 bd/2 bath. It's crazy! I hope for Daniel's sake prices will level off soon, at least in your area. I'm excited for you and your family! Mary Q's son moved back home, too. Big things usually happen in threes right?? I dream of Aut moving home, and they'd probably have to stay with us for a while, too. If that happened, we would consider hitting the road in our trailer - or else putting them up in the trailer. For Karlie's stuffies, you could put two hooks in the celing, hang a net hammock, and toss them all in there.

Now on to supper. I should make those beans. But maybe it will be tortellini with pesto sauce and a salad. And I think I'll make a small apple pie, too.

What's your best idea for tonite's supper?

Mary, I had a small Bernina and I really liked it. It started acting up, so I got rid of it.

Well yesterday took an unexpected turn. My dad called and wanted me to take him to Lowe's to buy
gift cards. Apparently he fell for a scam. Luckily, I picked him up and we went to the bank to make sure his accounts were okay. He hit the link on a suspicious email and they downloaded software to his computer. We were able to change all login and password on his back account, but they wiped his computer. It's at Best Buy being reloaded. What a nightmare.

I'm going out with the girls for dinner. DH is on his own.

Have a lovely day.

Maryz - Yeah!! Bill has you almost caught up with the quilting. My Sweet 16 needs to go in to have timing adjusted. A needle dropped and I pulled it out and in doing so messed up the timing. I have never had it serviced and have been thinking it was in need of servicing so it will all get taken care of. No, I didn't quite finish the quilt I have been working on and may use my Bernina 630 to finish. It will be a bit of a challenge to get the machine to the shop. I am removing the thread mast.

By the way, it looks like the push you gave the storm was just enough. Rain is predicted overnight. Thanks for sharing!!

Lori - Bernina's are great, but I was not happy with my Bernette. They are not made by Bernina and do not have the same accuracy. I bought an older model of Bernina to take to class and love it.

Becca - Hope you get over the virus quickly!

Mary Rose - Very good tips on beans. Thanks! I buy ham only at the holidays and always try to buy Hormel Cure 81. It has really good flavor. DH and I always like ham.

Dinner tonight will be "Macaroni and Cheese". We didn't eat it last night, because we were not really hungry. So tonight we will eat it.

Wish I could put that it is Thursday, March 3rd!

Carol
