SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Feb 21st

Good morning,

The dog's upset about something this morning so no sleeper-inners here! The cat is sitting in the middle of the living room, watching the dog with such a disgusted look on his face.

Yesterday we finished LOTR! Hooray! Even the pillowcases. We have a lunch date with Drew and then are going back to his house to pick up our house plants that he babysat for us so we'll be delivering the quilt then, unbeknownst to him. Bill asked what quilt I wanted him to do next. So Starry Night Nativity is up! But he accidentally started watching TV yesterday afternoon, though, so maybe today.. .

I cleaned up my sewing room. Between LOTR, Easter Swap, and Feb & March Lottos, I had a lot going on in that little room. All those projects are finished now so I'm back to putting together comfort quilt tops from the donated blocks. And I could make binding for Starry Night . .

BECCA - I hope you warm up soon. I'm reading one book and listening to another right now and both are set in NC. And both are having chilly weather. lol! I'm sure Avery will adjust. Kids do. They take their cues from the adults. My grandfather was 5' 7" but his five brothers were well over 6'. Daddy was 5' 10" and my brothers were all 5' 9", 5' 8", and 5' 7". My son is 5' 10". But the women! Oh my, At 4' 11-1/2" I'm the second tallest of my Mom and us 3 girls. We be wee folk.

TINA - Yay for sewing days! But if your winds don't die down soon, you'll be back to hot weather and having to get up and paint at 0500! Garters are easy - it used to be my standard gift for anyone I knew getting married. Also, when were were on our western dance team, The Guns & Garters, I made garters to wear on one boot to match each of our outfits. But, it's been a long time. Ahh.... Vicki. Part of Huntington's Chorea is paranoia. She thinks everything in her house is emitting toxins. Which is why she has pretty much dismantled her entire home, destroying cabinets, dragging appliances outside, removing her huge kitchen island all by herself and hammering it into pieces and burning it outside. She has even ripped up carpeting and flooring, burned most of her furniture, tossed out her dishes, torn down walls, took out her furnace. I believe, in her mind, the Kilz is killing the toxins. Hard to know. But I bet the rats didn't like the Kilz!

Well, on that note, the thought of supper isn't appealing, so I'm not even going to try. Since we're going out to Mexican restaurant for lunch, we might have leftovers. If not, I think we'll have pancakes and eggs.

Are you up to cooking tonite? What'll it be?

Good morning today starts a two-week vacation, and I will be playing in the sewing room most of the time. I have no idea what will be going on the table for supper, but I am going to get some breakfast now. While having breakfast I am going to figure out the arc on a 6" Rob Peter to pay Paul block for a sun. I have the templates for the 3 1/2" and the 4" blocks, but not a 6" block.
For an update on the wedding quilt, the binding and label are all that need to be finished. Pictures will be forthcoming.
What will be on your table tonight?

Good afternoon from a very sunny, semi warm, gorgeous day in SW. Pa...I just walked out on the back deck and was pleasantly surprised, warm enough with just a sweat shirt.....Now to quickly finish up the inside stuff and get to organizing the shed.....

Mary, been thinking about the presentation and wondering how it went...I sure hope you get pictures and share for all of us to see how elated he will be.....
I had to laugh at you be one of the "tallest" in the family...I always wondered how I had such tall boys...Our youngest, Terry is only 5'10", Kevin is 6', young Jim is 6'2" and Chris was 6'5"...Kathy is 5'4"...And all the grands are tall, most of them passed me (5' on a good day) when they were 10.....But, being built low to the ground does have benefits, sometimes...(Not too far to the ground if you fall).....

Becca, I don't know where I got the idea you were much taller...But, then to me, everyone is taller, lol....But, sure do hope you quit having the dizzy feelings....Not too much fun....

Jana, I know how excited you must be with your son moving close by...I was so happy when Terry moved back to Pa. from N. Carolina BUT now, he and his wife are looking into moving to Knoxville, Tenn...He was offered another job and working from home, she can be anywhere so they are thinking.....But, I figure, just another place to visit....

Yesterday I went to a fund raising bingo and all I won was a Chick fil A coupon for a sandwich, which I love so it wasn't a total loss....We ate, had fun and it was for a good cause....

I started my dinner last night in the slow cooker...Had a roast and onion sending yummy smells through the house all night...Tossed in carrots and potatoes so dinner will be effortless......Even have a little bread pudding left for afters....

You all have a great rest of the day.....

Happy eating...............

Good afternoon!

Down here finally in the Batt Cave! We dug our way in over all the toys and stuff left out from the kids playing down here. There will be a discussion on remembering the rules in the Batt Cave!

My new Ribbon Candy Quilt patterns arrived. One is a chocolate bunny. When I saw that pattern, I just could not resist! The pattern doesn't show a bite out of his ear, but there will be a bite out of m bunny's! Going through my stash for the perfect brown. I also got a pattern that is shamrocks and leprechaun hats. I have some perfect fabric for that one. I can now get to the printer to scan and print my other new project and get it started.

Dinner will be broccoli cheese soup in a bread bowl. Good day for it as it is snowing outside. Snowed all night as well. We have about 3 inches so far and that causes tons of accidents on the freeways. But Aaron isn't out there anymore! Yippee!

It's Sarah's DH's BD today, so she made him a favorite - a fruit trifle. Joseph served his mission in England and loves many English specialties and trifle is one. So we got the left over cake - which I frosted with chocolate frosting - is was a yellow cake.

Mary - looking forward to the reaction story. Sorry about Scottie and barking. The puppy next door has a tendency to want out and back in around 3 in the morning, so he barks at the door until someone lets kim in. I wish I had a automatic door opener for just those occasions!

Becca - hope that all works for the knee. We need to be able to keep moving!

MaryRose - good to see you and happy two weeks off!

Irish - yes, a new place to explore if he moves. My kids are pretty much homebodies near each other. Only one has a job that could take him from here, but so far, it hasn't. Even my nieces stay near by us. I am the old one, what you could call the matriarch and somehow they all like me! LOL!

Tina - hope you get lots of sewing done, before it's time to paint some more. Daniel is my busy child and all the little things that need to be done around here, will get done by him. He will wear me out!

Well, time to get the scanner warmed up -

Hugs,
Jana

Maryz - Looking forward to pictures of Drew with his new quilt. You really are fast at binding those quilts!

Jana - Happy Birthday to Sarah! Glad you saved Emma. Sounds like you happened by just in the nick of time. Those patterns do sound really cute.

Irish - A Chick-Fil-A sandwich is one of my favorites as well. Ruby will just have to find her way to taking you there soon. Your slow cooker meal sounds really good!

Becca - Best wishes in finding alternative treatment for your knees.

Rosebud - I must look up the Rob Peter to Pay Paul block. It sounds fun. Hope you find the right arc.

Dinner tonight will be chicken. I think I will do a sheet pan meal since I didn't marinate the chicken and last night we had Parmesan Chick. Guess that is what it will be - Sheet Pan Chicken with Mustard Sauce.
(Thanks for helping me decide what to make tonight.)

Today I had lunch with my sister and my niece. It was my niece's birthday on the 11th. I made her a pair of silverware roll-ups to use when camping. The pattern was in the April 2022 issue of the APQ magazine on page 94-95.
