Happy Valentine's Day!
Today is also our 30th anniversary. Boy! the years go by fast when you're having fun, don't they! I'm going to make my Valentine an apple pie today - his favorite. Plus, we're going out for early Italian dinner with friends, Tex & Annette, then back here for pie and Dominoes.
Yesterday I finished my wallhanging and posted a pic this morning. I currently have no WIP nor do I have any UFO's.
Then we watched the game. Bummer that the Bengals lost in the last couple minutes, but have to say, it was a good game. Friends, Doyle & Susie, came over and brought take'n'bake pizzas. I did snacks with brownies & ice cream for dessert. Susie and I declared it jammie day and wore our finest pj's. She also accessorized with her pearls and faux mink 'bathrobe' and furry slippers. It was great fun! And no bras!
Today I will clean my sewing and quilting rooms. We took some Christmas stuff with us to Texas and when we emptied the trailer it all got dumped into the quilting room, and there it still sits. No fairies here - bummer.
JANA - other than the outcome of the game, how did your tablegate party go? I'm going to guess it was wonderful! Especially the lemon pie! Ethan! I remember when he was born! Got to meet him when he was still a baby in arms, and now he's bigger than I am! Our grandson, Drew, is about 5'9" and wore size 14 shoes before he was out of high school. His feet are paddle boards!
TINA - oh do check out your stove's bells at least. You can explore the whistles later. Convection is really nice when you need to cook food faster on kid/dad days. We get grass, fir needles, maple helicopters, tiny alder cones, and dirt all tracked into our house. For the most part it stays downstairs because we almost always come in through the garage instead of our split stair front entry. But what a mess it all makes!
BECCA - I'm sorry you won't be able to see Marty and Estel's wedding but as long as they are happy, that's what truly counts. If Autumn gets re-married, we won't be there either, I'm sure. By the way, after two years her divorce is finally final. I'm not expecting her to rush into anything, but I do figure she and Antonio will marry sometime this year.
IRISH - don't feel bad about Christmas still out. I'm with you on that! Maybe today I'll get it finally put away. My younger sis piles her Christmas boxes in back of her couch and does cover them with a quilt! I'm picturing all your family sitting in front of the stove on chairs, watching. Makes me think of the photo Autumn sent me of her 3 cats all sitting in front of her new front loading washer, watching everything tumble! lol!
CAROL - sounds like your quilt show was a smashing success, no matter what the accounting says! I love pierogies. Judi makes tons of them every Christmas with a variety of fillings and then freezes them. Standard fare in Michigan, along with pasties. I haven't made mine from scratch, but do buy them frozen at Costco. great for a fast supper.
tonite we're going Italian! With applie pie and vanilla ice cream for dessert.
What's tempting you tonite?
